(Pt. 1) Hi hello, i was looking through your tumblr aaaand,,, i agree v much Rhett and Link in the second season of buddy system (bless the almighty gods for it) both have very redeeming, /gay/ qualities about them. The fact that Rhett lives his refined life, how he longs to be that wife who's talking to the cop, making a female farmer and getting married to a "man" in virtual reality. The friggin guy that came up to him during the silent episode and said something about "that one night" ,,,,,,,
(Pt 2) And all the other things he does, little things to be picked up on. Link, on the other hand, a clueless man who longs to be a dad (suspiciously them looking at another family and wanting to be the father /and/ the mother instead of them both looking at the father and longing or looking at two different families ((or maybe I'm reading too much into it))- but doesn't know how to accept romance or anything of the sorts. Only understanding that he /needs/ Rhett,,,,,
(Pt. 3) and how without Rhett he doesn't feel as though he can express himself, doesn't know what to do with himself. Without Rhett he feels lost, and like a robot just getting through life. Rhett continuously shows him his life doesn't have to be repetitive and boring, he can try new things (dick, for one) and experience life the way it was intended, fun loving and exciting. Link isn't sure he knows how he feels about Rhett, he just doesn't like being without him
(Pt 4) There's so much more that I want to say but I'd be filling your ask box to the maximum haha, 500 word limit my butt. Overall, Buddy System felt heavy with innuendos- and GMM is starting to feel that way as well. Whatever adventure the boys go on next, though, I know we (the fandom) will always love them for being the iconic duo and best friends that make us smile each morning. (-:
yes!! i love the buddy system 2 versions of them cuz they’ve got all these cystal-clear gay qualities like link’s girl best friend who he’s never been interested in and rhett’s extensive collection of designer clothes/fabrics. link is the kind of adult man who’s not expecting too much out of life, and rhett’s the kind of the man who takes his childlike wonder to new extremes. rhett needs to show him the comfort of domesticity, romance, and the physical pleasures of the human body, and honestly i think that’s exactly what robot!link needs :)
