Nova was happily talking to absolutely no one, pacing a little as he rambled to himself. âYâknow, Frost is, like⌠so cute,â Nova said, grinning. âOne moment heâs all cool and composed, and then the next heâs justâ ridiculously adorable.â He kept going, completely unaware of the danger approaching from behind. âAnd the other day? He fell asleep in the morning and straight-up refused to get up. Just buried his face and pretended the world didnât exist. I love him so much.â Behind him, Frost froze for a momentâthen smirked. Boredom plus impulse was usually a terrible combination for him. Today, though? Today it felt perfect. He crept closer, steps quiet, timing it just right. Nova barely had time to react before Frost tackled him to the ground. Nova let out a surprised noise, blinking up at his boyfriend just in time to see that familiar mischievous grin. âFrostie?!â Nova exclaimed, already blushing.bâYes, Nova?â Frost replied sweetly, far too pleased with himself. Before Nova could say another word, Frostâs hands were already movingâone sliding to Novaâs neck, the other digging into his side. Nova immediately burst into laughter, twisting and squirming beneath him. âF-Frostâ waitâ!â Nova laughed, trying to push him away, which only made Frost grin wider. âThatâs what you get for talking about me,â Frost teased, clearly enjoying himself. But Nova wasnât done... With a sudden shift, Nova managed to flip them over, pinning Frost beneath him. Frost blinked in surprise, the grin faltering just a bit.âNice try, Frostie,â Nova said with a smirk. âBut itâs my turn.â Frost tensed instantly. âL-like youâll have any luck,â he stuttered. âIâm not ticklish.â Nova stared at him in pure disbelief. Silence. Absolute betrayal.âOh,â Nova said slowly, smiling in a way that shouldâve been a warning. âOkay, Frost. If youâre not ticklish⌠then you wouldnât mind me doingâ this.â His fingers dug straight into Frostâs stomach. Frost broke immediately. Laughter burst out of him as he curled in on himself, tryingâand failingâto hide his face. He squirmed beneath Nova, hands flying everywhere except where they needed to be. âN-Novaâ!â Frost laughed, mortified and breathless. âOh?â Nova teased, clearly delighted. âYou were sooo confident a second ago.âAfter a moment, Nova eased up, giving Frost a chance to breatheâonly to move his fingers lightly to Frostâs neck, tickling just enough to make him laugh again. Frost groaned through his laughter, cheeks burning. âYouâre unfair.â Nova just smiled, leaning down a little closer. âMaybe,â he said softly. âBut you started it.â Novaâs fingers finally slowed, then stopped completely. He leaned back just enough to give Frost some space, smiling fondly as his boyfriend caught his breath, laughter fading into quiet giggles. Frost peeked out from behind his hands, eyes warm despite how flustered he still looked. âYouâre the worst,â he mutteredâthough the smile on his face ruined any chance of it sounding serious. Nova laughed softly. âYou love me.â Frost huffed, then reached up and grabbed the front of Novaâs shirt, tugging him down without warning. Nova yelped in surprise before melting against him, the tension dissolving instantly. They settled together on the floor, Frostâs arms wrapped around Nova while Nova tucked himself closer, resting his head against Frostâs chest. Frost pressed a small kiss into Novaâs hair, one hand lazily tracing circles against his back. âTruce?â Frost asked quietly. âTruce,â Nova agreed, smiling. They stayed like thatâtangled up, warm, and contentâNova still smiling to himself as he listened to Frostâs heartbeat, Frost holding him just a little tighter like he never planned on letting go.And honestly? Neither of them wanted to.
