not only he found out that the person who made his life miserable might still be alive but everyone else (exept maybe julien) is so excited about this. he has to watch hal have so much hope again while barely registering bolaire the whole time

the only times hal acknowledged bolaire were to express worry about the body he was inhabiting (totally valid btw, since he was not sure bolaire could inhabit someone without killing them). he didn't say "please don't punch my friend (bolaire)" he said "please don't punch my friend (misha)"

now pair this with thjazi only speaking to bolaire through thimble, calling him an it, now acknowledging him at all

in his mind one of his biggest fears came true. hal is finally seeing him how thjazi saw him

he finally has no one. he's alone. he will leave in the morning and get out of hal's hair. he has to look for his sister's because she's dangerous and hal has to look for his brother because he loves him

think about it. we had a whole cold open telling us that thjazi was so absorbed by his desire to fight that he wasn't having much contact with his family. hal practically begged him to stand down, holding a niece thjazi waited months to see

so one time he comes to hal's home and finds that a weird masked fellow not only started being friend's with his brother, but that his nieces and nephew call him uncle too. hal speaks to him with such adoration and camaderie, something that usually was reserved to thjazi and thaisha and the children

so he convinces himself that something must be wrong with bolaire and starts investigating

and in that investigation he not only finds out that bolaire is a weapon of mass destruction but that he'a also a mask. an object. a thing.

and he's relieved, because a thing could never replace him. a thing doesn't actually have feelings, or loves. so he latches onto that.

of course, he's also worried about his brother, but no matter how much he investigates he cannot find proof that bolaire is actually a danger to hal.

he could tell hal the truth but that would mean losing bolaire as an asset and as much as he hates him he needs him, either for information or to use him in his plans.

also, as much as he'd hate to admit it, hal enjoys bolaire's presence, and he could never do something to make his brother unhappy.

so instead, he decides to control him. if that thing actually cares about hal then he will use it against him. he'll keep him under his thumb until he doesn't need him anymore. a win-win.

and thjazi doesn't deal with things, especially if interacting with them might convince him of the contrary. so he separates himself from the problem and sends thimble to deal with it.

by now we have heard it pronounced two ways, with emphasis on the A (ázune) and with emphasis on the U (azúne)

when i read his name for the first time i was on the U side, but now that he said no one said it right yet i'm inclined to think luis took a more native hispanic approach and put the emphasis on the E (azuné)

there are a lot of native hispanic names that emphasize the end vocal, of the top of my head i think of tabaré (guaraní origin) or aluhé (mapuche origin)
