ASIFA-ATLANTA Georgia Animation Tour - Phase 1!
ASIFA-Atlanta aims transport our unique screenings, workshops, and creative professionals to students and conferences outside Atlanta's city center.
Why Tour?
Since we built our workshops in 2011, we have received numerous requests to expand to after-school programs, museums, libraries and technical schools. ASIFA-Atlanta wants to meet this demand by taking our most successful programs on tour: 12 n’ 12, Animation Draw Workshops, along with regional and international screenings.
Why Do We Need Your Help?
For ASIFA-Atlanta, this Tour means expansion. We want to learn more about what emerging animators and educators require to flourish. At least to start, we’d like to build on what we know. That means taking established programs to new audiences and recording the process and results. To do so, we are asking for your help to launch phase one, setting up shop and fortifying resources.
By June 28th, the date of our first tour stop, we intend to acquire a small office space equipped with two mobile editing stations, develope a website to support participants and to build 5 new animation stands. Your donation will directly contribute to these goals.
How Else Can You Help?
Large or small, every contribution helps! As part of this campaign ASIFA-Atlanta is hosting TASTE DU ANIMATION a fundraising dinner and after-party on May 22nd! We're always recruiting volunteer instructors, designers and technicians to assit with our workshops and share knowlege with participants. If you're interested in volunteering, please email [email protected] In-kind contributions for supplies and equipment are greatly appreciated. If you are able to lend a hand, contact Fatimah Abdullah at [email protected]
