For every “Trope” I get, I will post a TV trope for my muse.

All the best superheroes had moves. Miles had learned that pretty early in his hero career, pretty much the first (and last) time he saw Peter in action. Superheroes had to be good at kicking ass, but he was learning it didn’t really come naturally. Nobody woke up knowing how to throw a punch, even if they did have superpowers. And they definitely didn’t wake up knowing how to do the cool thigh choke he’d seen Natasha do both in news clips and in real life. That was one that required some teaching.

It was also one that probably required a partner. Miles’s current tactic of practicing it by himself in an alley? Not working as well as he’d hoped! He could have asked Nat or Jess to help him out, but the idea of breaking it out mid-battle and really impressing them was way too tempting to pass up, so the alley practice seemed his best bet. It was, however, a little less tempting when he found himself hanging upside down from the fire escape, somehow tangled in his own webs. He had to get better at this. Hearing footsteps approaching, he blinked at the face that appeared in his vision. “Oh, hi,” he greeted with a wave. “Uh, you just missed, like, eighty muggers. They were all eight feet tall. Don’t worry, I took ‘em out. They’re all in jail now. You’re welcome.” Natasha’s lying lessons weren’t really paying off yet, either, apparently. 

    sure, a lot had changed since carol had roamed around c-53, er, rather earth. there was that urge to still disassociate a location from a name. but this was where she was from; she needed to start familiarizing herself by calling his home planet what it was... headache inducing.

     at least there was something oddly never changing and that was the hole-in-the-wall coffee shops that had only one barista with dirty long hair and a tie-dye shirt. excellent. ordering up a coffee -- black -- carol got slightly into it once cashing out. ❝ what do you mean this planet doesn’t take units? oh -- shit. ❞ dollars. it was stupid paper dollars. god, how could they not have caught on to the rest of the galaxy? looking around, she spotted a dark haired young woman, of course minding her own damn business, and she had to go bother her. ❝ i’m sorry. i ordered a coffee and i don’t have legal tender because i’m a disconnected train wreck, apparently. do you have... two whole american dollars? i’ll give you the change. promise. ❞
