baby tessa had been enjoying the black out, actually. It wasn't the best situation, being trapped in the school with all of the generators, but in a way, it was fun. She remembered how when she was little, there was a black out in the town once and she had to cuddle under the blankets with her siblings. Her mother had yanked her out of the bed, though, throwing her outside, locking her out, screaming at her that she didn't want that near her precious babies. Tessa remembered being outside, like she was now, and as a little girl, she was lonely, hurt, abused, but when she looked up at the sky, with the entire town so dark and quiet, it was peaceful. She laid in the grass, counted stars all night and knew, just knew so passionately, that there had to be a better life out there for her. One where mothers held their children, embraced them and loved them, didn't say nasty things, where little girls like her could be free of sadness, of tears. She just knew it. And yet, here she was, years later, looking up at the same stars in the sky, and they seemed dimmer to her. She was just a little girl then, so full of hope and love, it was almost a sin. Tessa had changed from that silly, daydreaming little girl into a sarcastic, rough around the edges young adult, and she had to be. She had too many other worries now, with her baby siblings, with always being perfect, with everything. And yet sometimes, just sometimes, she wished she could be that little girl again, the one with hope and wonder in her eyes instead of a lost glimmer. Hearing someone behind her in the woods, she turned around and looked, narrowing her eyes. "...Hello?"
Thayer: wasn't the least bit frightened by the black out - not like his neighbors. Sitting in his apartment he had temporarily rented for his time in Beacon Hills, he could hear the panicked voices as parents gathered their children and children clung onto their parents for comfort. It made him sick. Relying on others only showed weakness and it was a flaw that almost everybody had. Not able to stand the weaknesses that was overwhelmingly flooding his apartment, he got up and left the building. As he walked down the street, Thayer realized he didn't have a clue on where he was going, but something was drawing his attention to a particular direction. Trusting his instincts, he followed the pull through the darkened streets and felt calm. Darkness was a friend of his and while he could sense others trying to shield themselves from darkness, he welcomed it in with open arms. Hearing a crunch under his feet, he glanced down and noticed the shift in terrain. The woods. He was getting closer now, he could feel it. It wasn't until he had almost reached his target did he realize what had pulled him towards this area. It was a feeling of longing, nostalgia, sadness, weakness... But it wasn't just the feelings that attracted his attention, but who the feelings were coming from. A banshee. As he took a step forward, he gave away his position. Slowly putting his hands up and walking cautiously towards the young girl, the witch spoke softly with a wide grin. "Hello, Tessa. Lovely to see you out here enjoying this wonderful night."
baby tessa let out a sigh and observed the much taller, admittedly handsome man, shaking her head. "Thayer. I would say the same, sweetheart, but unfortunately, I don't fucking hope you're enjoying this wonderful night. In fact, I hope you stumble down a well in this darkness." Tessa fake smiled, her quick-wittedness getting the best of her. She hated Thayer, the man in front of her had hurt one of her best friends, how could he stand there as bold as bronze and think it was okay to approach her. She was honestly sick of him, of everyone hurting her loved ones, and he would sorely pay. "Clearly you don't know a thing about me, Thayer, if you're approaching me now, in the woods, with no witnesses, clearly you're just dying for me to hit you right across that smirky smirk little face of yours. Do you want me to do it here, or further in the woods? Take your pick. In fact, pick your tree, because I will shove your head into a tree. You can pick the tree, but it will be a tree, sweetheart," She rattled off, smiling. Little did she know, he knew everything and even Tessa could sense that---she just wondered how much.
Thayer eyed the young banshee curiously as she spewed out verbal threats at him. "Of course, you're still bitter about the whole Lydia thing. I get it, I get it," the witch took a step closer, his hands still raised up near his head. "I come meaning no harm. I just couldn't stand staying in that town any longer. The sense of weakness I get from this place is overwhelming. Especially during an event like this." Thayer frowned slightly at what he considered an empty threat from Tessa. "If you think you would even stand a chance at coming within attacking distance of me, you're sadly mistaken, dear." He slowly shook his head with a chuckle. "As for the tree, I'll let you pick it out. After all, you probably know these woods better than me so your judgement would be better than mine." The witch lowered his arms as he stood staring at the girl in front of him, a little disappointed that she, along with everybody else in this town besides those who had witnessed his powers, was so oblivious to how powerful and knowledgeable he truly was.
baby tessa shook her head, studying the man in front of her and got closer to him, in his face. "I want to know right now what you want. From this town, from these people, I want to know and if I have to put your head through a tree, I will. Because if you think for one moment that I'm going to let you hurt any of these people, Thayer, you've got another thing coming. You have no idea who I am, so I suggest you quit the games for now and just get on with it." She glared, her voice tight, hiding her fear. She didn't know what Thayer was capable of either and it did scare her, but she also knew she wouldn't let anyone hurt her loved ones. Just like Tessa Grayson, to protect everyone, and yet not care for herself. She looked out for everyone and nowadays, being the forgotten one, the one who took the backseat, the girl everyone shoved to the side like she had always been shoved to the side, no one was looking out for her. Lydia was too wrapped up in Adrian and herself to truly see, Adrian had much bigger issues, as did everyone else and Derek? Derek had left her, again, and Tessa had realized he had truly seen her the way she had always seen herself---worthless and not worth staying beside. And even still, she loved all of them, so much, and she would fight Thayer, just like she had fought out everyone else, to protect them, even if she was the weakest banshee, the one no one seemed to look at. "Whatever you're planning, Thayer...Turn around and go back to whatever hell you crawled out of. This town has had enough shit happen to it...and I'm not letting you hurt a single soul."
Thayer couldn't help but roll his eyes at the clueless girl standing in front of him. "What makes you think I want any from this town? I could care less about this place. Same with the people. I have no intention on hurting anyone unless they get in my way. Or unless they irritate me. Exactly like what you're starting to do right now. If I were you, I wouldn't be talking so tough seeing as I could easily harm you." While Thayer admired her strength, there was a fine line in his mind between strength and annoyance and at that moment, Tessa was very near in crossing that line for him and that's when he would lose his patience. Intrigued by her continued threats, he took a step closer and his eyes narrowed. "Did you not hear me clearly the first time? I'm not here to hurt anybody. Not unless it's necessary. I'm here for one reason and one reason only and that reason I assure you, does not concern you or your friends. Yet all of you seem to enjoy sticking your noses into everybody else's business I've noticed."
baby tessa shook her head, stepping up even more to Thayer. "See, you think you're so slick and so sly, when really, you're not. I know all about you. You'd be surprised what one little banshee can figure out all on her own." She said, chuckling, shaking her head. "I know your game with Sheireen, your cousin. How you've killed everyone in that family of yours in order to gain power. And what you did with my best friend, Stiles. And Prometheus," Tessa said, shaking her head. "No one has it all figured out, but me, but I'm quiet enough to keep it myself, but I know everything that you did. I know everything that you are, how pathetic and weak you have to be, in order to bring back some fallen titan, to be controlled and to control him, to take away the innocence of people. The kind of person who does that has had their innocence stolen young probably as well, hmm?" Tessa said, circling him, shaking her head. "What happened to you, Thayer? Mommy and Daddy not love you? Did you have a bad past? Someone betray you? A loved one? Is this what it's al about? Revenge? If so, consider yourself even more weak and pathetic than I thought." Tessa let out a dry laugh, stopping in front of him, clearly wanting to strike a nerve within him. "And that's saying a lot, because I think you're the most pathetic thing I've ever seen."
Thayer 's eyebrow raised in amusement as his lips pressed into a thin line, his head gently nodding. "I'm not even going to ask why you're so obsessed with me and know almost everything about me. Almost." The witch was tempted to correct everything the banshee assumed about him and tell her the truth, but she didn't seem worth his time. He wasn't going to waste a good story on this weak young girl. "On the contrary, I had a wonderful past. Up until my teens. But I can't say the same for you, can I? You...now you seem like the kind of person who had a bad past. I sense weakness in you. So much weakness, little Tessa. It's almost as strong as the sense of sadness I get from you. I see right through that tough façade you put on. You've been through quite a bit, haven't you? And after all of it, where has it led you? Here? In the woods? With me? Why aren't you spending this black out with your loved ones. Or is there even anybody left for you?" Thayer placed his hands in his pocket and chuckled as he shifted his weight around a little, slowly growing bored by the conversation.
baby tessa scoffed, shaking her head again. "Obsessed with you? More like researching the enemy, sweetheart." She said. Of course he would believe that she was obsessed with him. He was a narcissistic asshole with an ego bigger than Texas. The moment he started talking about her own past, she felt her jaw tighten, her fists clenching. Right away, he had hit a nerve. "Shut. Up. You don't know anything." She seethed with rage. The truth was, there wasn't anyone else left for her. Everyone was ignoring her, like she had always been ignored, invisible, unloved. Tessa grew up like that, grew up being shoved to the side, forgotten, unloved, told she was unworthy of love and friends and family. She would cry in the darkness, and no one even knew. No one heard her. No one ever did. "I should say the same for you, darling. I really could. Who do you have left? Not Sheireen. She doesn't trust you any further than she could throw you. And everyone else, well, they're just praying for your death." Tessa snickered, hiding her hurt emotions like always. "Should I hurry up that beloved process for them?"
Thayer smirked when he noticed he hit a nerve in Tessa. He sighed at her attempt to talk him down. "Unlike the majority of you, I don't need anybody. So it doesn't matter that I have nobody left. All I need is me and, oh look, I'm right here," the witch patted himself, a selfish tone overcoming his voice. He had almost had enough of this banshee's trash talk. "I swear, if you open your mouth and another stupid little threat comes from your lips, I'm going to have to do something about it...and it won't be pretty. I'm warning you right now, banshee."
baby tessa rolled her eyes, in amusement. Her blood was boiling, her head was spinning with five hundred ways to make him suffer. "Everyone needs someone, don't they? You've convinced yourself, haven't you? That you're fine? That you don't need anyone? But you do and what is even more pathetic is that you won't even allow yourself to feel. That is what is so pathetic, little boy." She talked down to him, shaking her head. She neared him, shaking her head. "I'm a banshee, don't you forget it. And I can make you disappear for good." It was a lie, though. She was weaker than Lydia and Leah, and unlike them, she needed the two of them to change fate with, but she wasn't going to let Thayer know that. "I'm not afraid of you."
Thayer gritted his teeth as his eyes narrowed at the girl standing in front of him. "I warned you. I warned you!" The witch was starting to lose his patience and his mind was juggling through all of the powers he had come to absorb over the years to decide which to use on the banshee. Settling for the power of pain, he clenched his fists lightly as a cloud of emitted pain slowly surrounded Tessa. Thayer started out with a weak cloud, only wanting to hear a little sound of the pain effecting her. After all, he had just tortured another banshee not too long ago, why not continue it into a streak? "You're not afraid of me? That's what you tell yourself, isn't it? I know what you really feel. You're terrified of me, aren't you? Terrified of what I'll do to you but even more terrified to what I'll do to those around you. What's that boy's name that you're so fond of? Derek? And little siblings, ah yes...they're always lovely targets, as well."
baby tessa suddenly felt pain surround her and she clenched her teeth, shooting, dull pains hitting her, not being able to escape it. She closed her eyes to center herself, to try hard not to let the pain get to her, but it was terrifying. She knew about Thayer, about some of the things he has done---he conjured up Promethus, for crying out loud. He was powerful. The moment he mentioned Derek and her siblings though, her eyes changed to deep seeded rage. "Don't you ever, ever mention hurting them in front of me!" She snarled, shaking her head. "I'll kill you, do you understand? If you lay one---" She had to stop mid sentence, whimpering, at the pain that was surrounding her. She fought through that, like Tessa always had. "Lay one finger on them, I'll wipe you off the earth. I swear to God!" Tessa exclaimed and chuckled through the pain. "I've lived through physical pain my entire life. You'll have to do better than your little cloud!"
Thayer found enjoyment in her initial reaction to his little cloud of magic that surrounded her. However, when she started to talk back to him again, his head slowly shook. Whenever somebody he was trying to torture talked back to him, that's when the fun started to fade which made him want to create more pain. Chuckling at her death threat, he only clenched his fist tighter, causing the cloud to emit a greater pain to it's victim. Maybe the black out was a gift in disguise. With nobody else around to save Tessa, he was going to break her. Emotionally and physically. By the time he was done with her, she was going to be begging for death.
baby tessa shut her eyes tightly, the cloud of pain worsening, creating more and more pain, like white hot knives digging into her skin. Tessa bit down on her lip, causing for the taste of blood in her mouth, and she tried, she tried so hard to not like it affect her. She whimpered, but still, didn't shed a tear, wasn't going to allow him to break her. Little did she know just how powerful he was---bigger and badder than anything she had been up against before. Tessa swallowed hard, and tried to step up to him again. "Y-You're not. Scaring. Me." She said through gritted teeth, remaining strong. "I won't let you hurt any of them, do you understand? I'm...not the banshee to fuck with." She breathed, snarling at Thayer. "Y-You have no idea what kind of physical pain I've been through in my life. You're in for a rude awakening, because Tessa Grayson? She doesn't give up." She seethed, clenching her fist.
Thayer scoffed as she continued to resist. The stubbornness and necessity to put on a tough act seemed to be a commonality the banshees all had and Thayer was not amused by it at all. If she had just resisted his magic, he might have admired her strong will. However, every second she opened her mouth, he grew more and more annoyed. He searched through his powers for anything that would shut her mouth, but to his surprise, nothing came up. Groaning slightly as she continued to talk about how strong she was, Thayer yawned a little. "Oh. Sorry. I was just getting tired from your boring little monologue there. I'm so upset I don't have a power that could make your mouth disappear. I'll have to work on that one..." He raised his hand slightly as the cloud got thicker and the pain more intense. There were five levels of pain the clouds he conjured could have and right now, they were on level three. "On a scale of 1 to 10, how painful is this? Because I still have two more levels of pain that are each double of this pain's intensity."
baby tessa quite honestly felt as though her skin was on fire. She kept her eyes closed, breathing through her own pain, wincing, but she wouldn't give in. She stared directly at him, and bit down on her lip still, blood all she could taste in her mouth. The pain was intense, and it grew more and more and more. Still, though, she refused to shed a tear, or scream, not let him know how much pain she was truly in. "...Y-You're pathetic. You g-going to kill me...like y-you've killed so many other people, hmm? Your sister and mother." She knew that would get to him. She had gone to Sheireen's house before, done her own research and looked up the records while Sheireen had stepped out of the room. Tessa was brilliant, always one step ahead, and she had connected the dots. She had now only said it out loud, been quiet about it, been doing her own research and flying under the rador. She shook her head, smirking a tiny bit at him. "...I'm the one that is pathetic? And yet, I'm not the one whobegged for their mother for powers...Who had to kill my family and keep killing them to regain power. That's all y-you are...a leech. You suck other people's powers from th-them...It's not even your own power. It makes you weak, having to steal oth-others' powers, doesn't it, Thayer? Doesn't it? Poor little Th-Thayer...begging his mommy to unlock his magic for him."
baby tessa joined the chat 4 days ago
Thayer spun around and faced the banshee. "You know nothing about my family," he muttered through his clenched teeth. "Mother? Don't you dare mention her to me. It's because of her that we're in this position right now. So I guess you have her to thank. It's natural in life, to want what you can't have, but mother wasn't able to understand that... Well, little banshee. Magic 101. When I kill, I absorb powers. When I absorb powers, those powers become mine. When they become mine, I combine them and make them better, I use them to their full potentials, unlike the original owners of these once wasted powers." Thayer turned away from Tessa. While he wasn't sorry about killing his mother or most of the other victims that had fallen because of him, he did mourn over his sister. His dear sister who had only tried to help him calm his powers, but his surge of power had gotten the better of him. Blinking away the burning in his eyes, he sighed. "I guess we'll have to kick up this pain a notch." With a flick of a wrist, the cloud followed his command and grew slightly darker as the pain doubled.
baby tessa felt the pain worsen, more and more, and suddenly, she couldn't hold in the muffled whimpers. She cried out in pain, doubling over in pain, onto her knees. Her head spun a bit, biting down on her lip and more, thinking her head was going to explode. She held onto both her temples, the pain radiating everywhere until she looked up at him, her piercing gray eyes glaring. "You steal po-power...Well, you won't st-steal anyone else's po-powers...Not here, not in th-this town..." She exclaimed, angrily, whimpering from the pain. "I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU!" She screamed out through her pain, her fingernails making her bleed when she dug them into her skin, her teeth clenched. "Yo-You'll have to br-break every bone in my b-body to g-get me to st-stop...I w-won't let you hurt any of them. I won't. Mark my words, I won't."
Thayer tilted his head with a grin as he watched the pain do it's work. Tired of hearing the girl talk anymore, he tuned her out, going through his mind about how exactly he wanted to go about getting his business done in this town until something Tessa said caught his attention. "Did you really just say that?" The witch took a step towards the banshee and tapped his chin with his finger. "Now there's an idea. Breaking every bone in your body. I have to say, I've never tried to do that to anybody before, but I love challenges and I'm always up for something new...plus, you so intently insisted." To make things a little worse, his lips twisted into a wicked grin. "And then, why don't I steal your powers while I'm at it?"
baby tessa was breathing heavily, her eyes filled with tears, but she wouldn't shed them, not yet. Why doesn't anyone there to save her? She had always saved everyone else, come running to everyone's aid. Whether it was Lydia, Derek, Stiles, Adrian, John, Ash, she had saved them all at one point. And yet no one was looking for her---it was like she hadn't mattered at all. She could die right then and there and no one would ever care. Her siblings would find better homes, better living situations, and no one would find her body, or better yet, even know she had gone missing at all. That was why she had to fight, fight through the pain, be stronger, be better, even though her heart ached. Why wasn't anyone coming for her? Tessa looked up, her gray eyes settling on the witch before her and shook her head. "Yo-You can't steal my powers...You w-won't. And th-there's no spell that could break my b-bones, one by one..." She was bluffing, of course. Tessa had no idea. "You're going to take my powers like you took your poor mother and sister's? Because you lost control, didn't you? That's all you do---lose control, Thayer!" She exclaimed, angrily, the pain coarsing through her. "I'm not like Lydia and Leah---I'm not one to give up!" Of course though, she was weaker than them.
Thayer 's eyes flashed as more words flew out of Tessa's mouth. "What is it with you banshees and not cooperating? And is "Talking Tough" a class that they teach here in Beacon Hills? Because this town definitely needs one, everybody here that's talked back to me usually has something pathetic to say. Like you. You're right, there's no power to break your bones, but I can find other ways. Oh, dear Tessa, there are many ways for bones to break. Would you like a demonstration?" He chuckled as his mind flashed through the powers he had to see which would suffice in the demonstration. "If I lose control all the time, your little friend, Lydia, would be dead already. In fact, everybody in this town would already be dead."
baby tessa glared up at Thayer, trying to stand up, but not being able to, the pain overwhelming her too much. "Y-You could teach it, couldn't you? Or maybe you're too busy...causing chaos because you have n-nothing else in your life." She said, glaring up at him. "Nothing but the power hungry need for destruction...Is this wh-what your family w-would have wanted, your dear sister?" She prodded again, hoping to strike a nerve. "Wh-What did she say before she d-died, Th-Thayer? Please stop? Please, I love you?" She mused, shaking her head. "An-And you just killed her...wa-watched the light leave from her eyes...How was that? Killing your own flesh and blood? D-Did you ever forgive yourself? Probably n-not..You are so self hateful it's pathetic." She continued, feeling superior for a moment.
baby tessa clenched her teeth when he had mentioned Lydia. "DON'T YOU MENTION LYDIA'S NAME IN FRONT OF ME!"
Thayer couldn't take Tessa's prodding anymore and something inside him snapped with the mention of his sister. "You have no right to talk about my sister to me. You never knew her and never will." His eyes flashed with a fiery rage and his breathing got heavier as he struggled to keep his calmness. "I'm going to assume you do want a demonstration," Thayer's eyes flashed with a burning hatred for the banshee at her attempt of trying to get into his head pulling his family into their conversation. Keeping the cloud around her kept at level four, Thayer raised his hands as little fire bullets appeared above each of his fingers on his right hand and he eyed the banshee with a new look of anticipation. "Now, what did we decide earlier? Oh yes, your left hand right?" Thayer suddenly appeared closer to her as he waved his fire tipped fingers around the cloud that still surrounded her. Grabbing a hold of her left hand, he jerked it out of the cloud and brought his fingers close, the heat jumping onto Tessa's left hand.
baby tessa watched as he jerked her small hand out and brought his fingers close, his fireball jumping onto Tessa's hand as she screamed out in agony. "STOP IT!" She said through gritted teeth. "PLEASE, JUST---JUST STOP!" She cried out badly in pain, her hand burning. She looked up at him, her gray eyes still flaming, glaring, angrily. "You th-think you're stronger than me? You do, don't you? You're Not! I've been through worse pain than this, worse than you can imagine---" She winced and whimpered in pain, badly. "Yo-You won't break me! I'm not easily broken, don't you forget! I'm not!" She exclaimed, angrily, although the pain was searing through her skin. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to remain strong, for herself, for everyone. "You won't break me."
Thayer chuckled at the obvious pain she was feeling yet she felt the need to continue to talk herself up as if saying she was strong out loud would actually help her. With a slight shake of his head, he let out a little tsk. "Well, you're probably talking about emotionally breaking you, right? You're not easily broken emotionally? What about physically, huh? There's no way you're invincible or anything so I believe I would find it quite easy to break you physically. But now that I think about it, wouldn't it be more fun to do both? Oh Tessa, dear little yet annoying Tessa. I'm not only going to break you physically and emotionally, I'm going to drain the life out of you. You'll be nothing by the time I'm done with you. Nothing.." The witch lifted his hand up as the smoke that surrounded her returned to his palm until he clenched it shut, making the cloud disappear. Within a split second, he flung his other arm towards the banshee as a powerful force emerged out of his arm and threw the young girl against the nearest tree with such a great force, a loud crack was heard.
baby tessa had heard the words leave his lips, and before she knew it, the cloud was gone, but she was thrown, roughly, into the tree, both of her arms broken as she fell. Letting out a horrible, anguished cry, she whimpered, tears springing to her eyes, breathing heavily. "Th-Thayer..W-Wait, you d-don't...You don't have to d-do this...You don't," She said, out of breath from the pain, the taste of blood in her mouth. She looked up at him, her gray eyes wanting to brim over with tears. "...Yo-You don't have to be this way..." She tried to get out, trying to stand up, as her legs felt like jello, but weren't broken. Not yet, anyhow. She swallowed hard, feeling blood drip from her face from the few cuts she had and leaned against the tree. "...You d-don't have to be the monster everyone thinks you are..."
Thayer let out a malicious laugh as he glanced at the girl in front of him. "Is that what everybody thinks I am? A monster?" The witch took a step closer and gently tapped his chin. "You're right, Tessa. I didn't have to do this, but you, you had to be so insistent with your mouth and blabber on and on about me being weak, you being strong, blah blah blah, something like that. But don't you see? I gave you plenty of time to stop talking, but you continued to. It's too late to save yourself." He took one more step closer to her and shook his head lightly. "See, the problem is, I haven't killed anybody in a long time, I'm beginning to forget the exhilarating adrenaline rush that it gives me and well, I don't want that to happen."
baby tessa felt her legs try and get up, as her arms were immobilized, useless. If she didn't get away fast, she would die here, alone. Wasn't she always alone, though? Tessa shook her head and swallowed hard. "...Y-Yes, of course they think you are...You only kill to want to become more and more powerful, isn't that right? I put the pieces together..." She breathed, clenching her fist. "The more witches you kill, the stronger y-you get, right? I figured out your game...Just ne-never said it out loud..." She looked up at him, and smirked, shaking her head. "And wh-when I get out of here, I'll tell ev-everyone what you've done...They'll come for you and they'll k-kill you. Just wait. I'll tell th-them all."
Thayer walked right up to Tessa and patted her arm knowing it would be painful. "Congratulations. You figured out part of my game. For your prize, I'll try and show you several of my powers before I destroy you, how does that sound?" The witch turned slightly but glanced back when he heard her last statement. "Who says I'm going to give you the chance to get out of here? Oh no. You're stuck here with me and there's no way I'm letting you out of here to tattle on me to the rest of the town, no, that can't happen. I guess killing you really is the only option I have now, isn't it?" Thayer pointed towards Tessa as a stream of lightning flew to both of her legs. "There, now you can't run now. You're defenseless now with nowhere to go and nobody to save you."
baby tessa winced at the patting of the arm and cried out in pain. Her eyes were now filled with fear, with his words, as lightning struck over the darkened town. Her lip trembled, looking up at him, shaking her head. "...I d-don't have to say anything. It can be our secret..." She quickly backtracked. She thought of Lizzy, of Michael, of Stiles, of Lydia, of Leah, of Allison, trying so hard to communicate with them from her mind. But there was nothing. Lightening struck both of her legs, powerful breaks to them and Tessa screamed out. Both of her arms and both of her legs were broken, horribly, and she was defenseless now. Leaning against the tree, shaking her head in pain, tears started to stream down her face. "...N-No. Please, don't. I'll do anything. Please, do not." She softly pleaded, trying to crawl away, every action, every movement so painful. "...I'll g-get out of here, I will, I'm no-not going to give in..." She told Thayer, although tears streamed down her young face.
Thayer knelt down to the same level of Tessa as she leaned against the tree, his facial expression showing deep thought. "See, now you keep going back and forth from trying to stay alive and trying to play the hero. You can't do both, Tessa. It's starting to confuse me and I don't like being confused. Here, let's make this simple, shall we? I'll give you two options. Option 1, I let you live but the moment you utter one word about this night, I won't kill you, but I'll kill everybody you care about around you. Option 2, you keep talking and I'll just kill you. The choice is yours, little banshee. All you have to do is choose."
baby tessa looked at shaking her head. "You're lying...You're lying, aren't you? You're lying to me..." She said through tears. No matter what happened, she was going to tell everyone anyway, there was no doubt about that. Tears streaming down her face, she saw a stick of wood near her and reaching out with her broken hand as Thayer spoke, she winced, until she got it in her hand. "I choose this." She said and with great pain to her own broken bones, she swung the branch in Thayer's face, hopefully hurting him. She was breathing heavily, swallowing hard. "How does that feel? Feel good? That felt good to me!" Tessa screamed, trying to get up, trying to crawl, trying to get away, to buy himself more time.
Thayer blinked several times as he felt the branch against his cheek. Lifting his hand and gently touching his face, he shook his head. "Stubborn, just like the other one." With a sigh, he stood up and with the flick of a wrist, his magic took control of Tessa's body and caused her to stand up straight, no doubt hurting her already broken bones as they re-situated to the new position. "It's a shame really. You have such a lovely face and seemed like a sweet friend to those around you." An orb of energy appeared in his palm and as if he were playing baseball, he pitched orb after orb at her body, each with such force that no doubt a bone was breaking with each impact. After about five orbs, he shook his head, unsatisfied. Circling a cage of fire around her, he pondered back and forth brainstorming on how exactly he wanted to torture the banshee.
baby tessa screamed out, and this kind of scream was blood-curling. Standing up was so painful, so excoriating, nonetheless, but the orbs that hit her five times were what really hurt her the most. Each time, a new bone cracked, until finally, he back cracked, her spine, everything and she screamed out in utter and immense pain. "HELP!" She let out, sobbing. "HELP ME, PLEASE!" She cried out, but no one came. No one at all. She was all alone out here and as she looked up at the sky, every star seemed dimmer. A cage of fire surrounded her mangled body, her broken body, blood everywhere, as she looked up at Thayer, breathing heavily. "Y-You haven't broken me yet...You won't ever break me...YOU'LL NEVER BREAK ME!" She screamed out, tears streaming down her face.
Thayer was sick of the cries of her not having been broken. "Do you ever shut up? No? Maybe I should have broken your jaw first." The witch turned to face his prisoner surrounded by his fire as he shrunk the cage giving her no room to move around and any movement she made resulted in her getting burned. "You keep telling yourself that, Tessa. By the time I'm done here, there will be nothing left of you to break. I give you my word on that." Waving his hand, the fire cage disappeared and with a wave of his other hand, he flung her against another tree. His eye sparkled as he walked over to Tessa and pulled out a shiny object, setting it in front of her. A knife.
baby tessa felt herself being burned and then flung into the tree. Whimpers escaped from her mouth, realizing her neck was now broken. Ever bone she could think of was broken. Shaking, trembling, her eyes closing, she saw the knife in front of her. Swallowing hard, she looked up at Thayer and shook her head. "N-No...No, please..." She whined, not even being able to move. "...M-Michael and Li-Lizzy...Lydia and D-Derek...Derek...[/i]" His face crossed through her mind, her lip trembling. His smile, his eyes, her siblings' laughter, Adrian's hugs, Jason's warm advice, John's jokes, Helen's sweetness, Ash's wisdom, Allison's fierceness, Rowan's sarcasm, Jackson's cockiness, Malia's loveliness, all of it mixed in with her. Her eyes overflowed with tears as she looked up at him, helplessly, like a puppy and shook her head. "...N-No. No."
Thayer glared at the begging banshee that lay before him, his eyes cold and unemotional. "You brought this on yourself." Turning away, he opened up his palms and as he did so, his eyes closed as he focused on taking over control of Tessa's body. While she was aware of herself being controlled, he moved her right arm forward to reach for the knife. Having her raise it up, he was going to have her kill herself. He had done it once before with a witch; he had made her use her own power on herself. Seeing as Tessa didn't have a power that could kill her, an old fashioned knife would have to suffice.
baby tessa screamed as he took control of her body, her hands going for the silver knife on the ground. "NO! NO, NO, NO!" Tessa fought against it, fighting, fighting, fighting. She felt Thayer control her body, her hand going to the knife on the ground, holding it, keeping it steady and her eyes were overflowing with tears. "...N-No, please...Please. I ca-can't die...I ha-have people...I love...I ca-can't..." She cried out, and fought against the power of Thayer, not allowing herself to stab herself. "I w-won't let y-you...I w-won't..." She breathed, keeping the knife away from herself, as the spell and force of sheer will that was Tessa held the knife, everything inside of her pushing it away.
Thayer felt his eyes flutter open as he spun around to stare at the girl. How had she not already stabbed herself? He had already given Tessa's body the command to drive the knife through her heart but there she was, still alive, knife in her hand. Thayer had underestimated her and he nodded slightly, impressed by her strong will to live. It was a pity that her life would end soon. "You know, I admire your strong will. I'm sure you'll be mourned. And hey, you put up a good fight, I'll give you that." Bending down, he grasped one of his hands around hers that held the knife and with his other hand, he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "You've got an admirable quality to you, Tessa. Too bad it had to end this way. I'll give you a moment to say a few last words, love."
baby tessa cried out, not wanting to die, not wanting her life to be just this. A moment, a flash, and then nothing at all. She shook with everything in her, a fear she had never felt before, a fear of dying, and knowing this was the utter and complete end for her. She wished to be back home, to be with her siblings, to be with her friends, to be normal, like Lydia always said she wanted. Normal and happy---why couldn't she just be normal and happy? She swallowed hard, tears streaming down her face as she shook her head, her face begging as his hand wrapped around the knife as well. "Y-You still...never will br-break me. You may k-k-kill me, but you didn't k-kill my spirit...You c-can take my po-powers, my li-life, but you c-cannot take my spirit..." She whimpered out, a flash of lightning hovering over their heads, everything swirling around Tessa and her gray eyes. Those gray eyes. Those gray eyes.
Thayer 's eyes softened as he acknowledged her strength which remained unwavered throughout his entire torture session. However, it wasn't enough admiration to change his mind on her fate. "I'm sure your spirit will live on..." the witch muttered as he rolled his eyes. He should have expected that she would have another monologue ready. He was too far gone, he had tortured her too much to stop now. No, he had to finish the job; he couldn't risk her blurting to the rest of the town all about him. Smiling down at the banshee, he shushed the young girl and felt the resistance from Tessa as he pressed on her hands. While her emotional strength was strong enough to fight against his mind controlling power, her physical strength had great weakened from his tortures and it didn't take long for him to overpower her, driving the knife into her chest. Taking a deep breath, Thayer's eyes closed as he felt her power flow out of her dying body and surge into him, that familiar exhilaration overcoming his body. His eyes fluttered open as he waved his hand over the knife, causing it to disappear, leaving no evidence of the fatal weapon. Leaving a kiss on Tessa's forehead, he stood to leave. "Your power will be used to it's fullest potential, I can promise you that." Without another word, he turned and vanished into the night.
Stiles: Stiles wasn't sure how long he'd been running, maybe it had been minutes or maybe it was hours. The voices screaming in his head, begging him to get somewhere before it was too late. Stiles had no idea who the voices were, but he didn't have time to think about it for even a second. He knew something was wrong, so he kept running. Then all of a sudden the voices screamed even louder and he felt a sharp and agonizing pain in his stomach. Staggering and almost falling down, he forced his body upright and stumbled further into a clearing. That's when he saw it, a body on the floor. Brown long hair, a hair he knew all too well. In that moment he felt his entire world completely shatter as the reality of who was laying right there just a few feet away. He knew he screamed her name, but it fell deaf on his ears as all sound faded into nothing. Time seemed to slow down as he ran towards her, stumbling to his knees beside her and grabbed her. "Oh god, Tessa! Oh god, you're- oh god." He choked, hands trembled as he pulled her closer and placed her head on his knee and stared at the wound and pressed his hand over it and tried desperately to stop the bleeding. "Stay with me, okay? I've got you, I'll get help. Just stay with me" He whispered in desperation, panic and fear burning through him. He'd been here before, he remembered this feeling as a child in the hospital. He couldn't lose her too.
baby tessa didn't feel much pain at first. Every bone in her body was broken, but it was funny---she didn't feel pain. It was numbing, as she heard a voice, the voice of a boy she had known all too well. The voice that had taught her what it was like to have a home, to have family, to be loved. Her first best friend. Swinging on the swings that July afternoon, her braided hair getting tangled and there he was---big brown eyes and all. Those same brown eyes looked down at her as blood gushed out of her, all she could feel in her mouth was blood. She looked up at Stiles, swallowing hard, shaking her head. "...N-No...No, it's...It d-doesn't hurt, I promise..." She whimpered, wincing as he put pressure on it. "...St-Stiles...Stiles, the b-boy who fi-first taught me what family was...Remember wh-when I got my h-hair stuck in the swing? You were th-there...and you've been there since...It's okay," She said, tears falling from her gray eyes. "...Stiles, lo-look at me, please...Please...Li-Lizzy and Mi-Mikey...You ha-have to protect them, ta-take care of them...And De-Derek," She coughed up more blood, shaking her head. "If he c-comes back, tell him...I love him....He's the only ma-man I've ever truly loved...Youhave to tell him, okay? Tell...Tell Lizzy and Mi-Mikey that I...fo-fought so hard for them...That I lo-love them," She cried out. "Pl-Please, St-Stiles, please...Just te-tell them..."
Stiles: Stiles couldn't be facing this, he couldn't be losing someone else too. Not now, no this wasn't really happening. Tessa wasn't supposed to go, she wasn't- not Tessa. She was supposed to get out of this town, find the perfect guy and start a family with the white picket fence and Stiles was going to visit just to make fun of her for settling down for a normal, supernatural free life. This wasn't supposed to happen. "Hey, hey don't talk like" He whispered, begging and broken as his hand trembled over the wound and he felt the tears burning against his eyes. "You can tell Derek yourself when you see him, who else is going to help me keep the big grump in check?" He trembled, feeling her weight in his shaking arms and the fading light in her eyes. "You wait and see, before you know it you'll be back with Lizzy and Mikey. We can do something, we'll- we'll do something. Please Tessa, please stay with me" He begged, tears running free as he clutched her so close to him as if somehow holding on would keep her from going away. "Don't leave me, please don't leave me. I can't- I can't lose you too" He begged, tears falling free from his eyes as he held on for dear life. It just wasn't supposed to end like this.
baby tessa felt Stiles's tears, the warmth of his stiles as she smiled through her pain. "...Yeah, w-we're gonna go to...Disney World, right? Lizzy sees her f-first princess..." She smiled, as if already somewhere else. "M-Mikey can ride the batman r-rides with you...He w-wants to be spiderman..." She smiled again. "...St-Stiles...I'm s-so sorry...I love you, you kn-know that, right? You know that...You have to kn-know that...We st-stay in the darkness to-together, but...d-don't follow me there. St-stay in the light...I'll go in the d-darkness myself, it's okay...I'm okay.." She could feel her eyes wanting to close as she felt Stiles underneath her. "It's okay...You're my brother, right? My brother..."
Adrian: Adrian wasn't sure why he felt the need to go to go out of the house, maybe because he had been locked up in it all week healing - or maybe it was the feeling of knowing something was going to go bad. He parked his car outside of the woods. He wasn't sure why, but he walked towards the woods carefully. His gun in hand, he knew something happened. He knew it, his car lights were dim as he went deeper into the woods, until he could hardly see the light anymore. Adrian heard the muttered voices - most times he'd pull the gun out but this time he didn't. Even from the distance he knew who it was, his feet took the steps careful and slow. Until he saw the two people - two teens. His heart stopped, noticing the details that he could see in the dark. He noticed the boy, but it was the girl he started to pick apart. Her long brown hair, and her small body - Tessa. "No..." He let out a crocked mutter, his legs didn't want to move forward. "Tessa..." He fell to his knees tears forming in his eyes, this was just a nightmare - another one of his nightmares. He'd walk up screaming soon, with Jason yelling his name. It was just a nightmare, it couldn't be real.
Stiles: "You bet, just the four of us. I'll even wear that Mickey Mouse hat and everything and go all out" He laughed weakly as the tears continued to roll down his face and his lips began to tremble. He was ten years old again, begging his mother not to leave him as he watched the life leave her eyes. "No way, not happening. We stick together remember? Me and you against the world, you're not going anywhere without me" He promised desperately, like a hopeless belief of a child in the air. "Of course I do, we're family remember? Have been since we were kids on the swing, you couldn't get rid of me if you tried" He sniffed loudly, his eyes stinging from the tears and his vision blurred. "And family sticks together, so don't you think about going anywhere okay? I'll figure this out, just keep holding on. I'm going to stay right here, by your side" He promised with a broken voice, his hand squeezing hers now tightly and wrapping his fingers around hers. "See? I'm right here, forever. I'm not going anywhere Tessa."
baby tessa looked up at Stiles and felt herself drift away and then she saw a pair of beautiful crystal blue eyes. The eyes of Adrian Dumont. "...Ad-Addy...You're he-here too..." She whispered, reaching up to touch his face. "...I lo-love you...My two br-brothers...Well, Ja-Jas isn't here...And Mi-Mikey..." She trailed off ans looked up at Adrian. "I...I f-fucking love you, okay? Y-You...have to ta-take care of Li-Lizzy and Mikey...Pr-Promise me, the two of y-you...I lo-love them so much...You ha-have to tell them that..and th-that I di-didn't die afraid...Because I'm n-not afraid..." She whispered, being dropping her hand and her mouth was in a whisper of a smile. "...I'm n-not afraid....not anymore..." She felt her eyes flutter and just like that, closed with absolute certainty as lightning lit up the sky, as if the heavens damning the death of the gray eyed fighter that had fought and fought and fought. The gray eyes that would remain forever closed.
