I have a question for you as a writer.
I want to write but I donāt know how to begin I donāt guess. I can put words together but I want to write something meaningful. And part of me feels that without a conclusion it canāt be all that meaningful. but I donāt know the ending yet.
and I know the ending isnāt required for the meaning but I donāt know how to like, internalize that enough to *actually* write.
Got any advice?
I think if you worry too much about the meaning, you end up shooting yourself in the foot. Personally when I start writing, when i focus on the story first, the meaning can kind of write itself in a way (as well as the conclusion)? Whereas if I try to create something for the purpose of being 'meaningful', I can get too caught up in abstract concepts that prevent me from finishing my story and reaching what it could be.
I can't remember where I saw it, but there was this one post where someone was in a writing class where the teacher asked for a short story and one person tried writing something meaningful and deep but it ended up being abstract and difficult to read. The teacher made them start over and gave the instructions "write something without thinking about the logic, something completely silly and indulgent" and the person's second story ended up being one of the strongest in the class
I guess what I'm trying to say is: sometimes to start writing, you have to put words on paper first, and then see what your words are trying to tell you.
Good luck in your writing endeavors!
Thinking about when I talked to my partner about Lake Infinity Train and how theyāre nonbinary coded and they go
āVery nonbinary thing to do to name yourself after the nearest object in nature.ā
Which is true, but thereās more to it than that and I said as much when we talked about it.
A lake *is* reflective, but thatās not *all* it is. There is more to its identity as a lake than the fact it reflects. That is an aspect of its nature but not the only one.
So, for someone who has been told it is in their nature to reflect and that is all they are for, the lake is a symbol of being that *and more* and I think thatās really important.
This may have been obvious to you. It stuck out to me pretty early on. But also since my partner missed it, maybe itās worth pointing out.
I illustrated the intro to Episode 5 of There's Always a Tavern dnd podcast.
The intros to this podcast are always hilarious and I had to draw this one.
You can listen on Spotify, YouTube, or wherever else.
I keep thinking about how āexitoā means success in Spanish and how when you complete your Infinity Training (pun intended), succeed in learning whatever lessons you get an Exit. Or even on a smaller level when you successfully complete the required task of the car you get an exit.
Itās right there. and I have no idea how to use it.

I kid you not, it is just after 11 on a Tuesday night and I can hear a slowed down nightcore version of baby shark coming from the downstairs neighbors.
