Changbin turns his attention to the little boy in his arms, “Noona will be back after work. Do you want to color?”

“No…Oh!” Niko’s eyes widen as a thought crosses his mind. “Can we go to the park? I want to go down the big slide!”

“The park?” Changbin pretends to think it over and Niko grabs Changbin’s face between his little hands.

“Please? Binnie please? I promise to be good!” Niko pouts as he smushes Changbin’s face together.

“Wo prowmise?” Changbin’s worlds come out muffled and Niko giggles making Changbin smile as he nods his head. “Okay!” Changbin shakes Niko’s hands from his face. “Let’s go to the park!”

At the park, Changbin sits on one of the many benches with Hyunjin and Minho; watching Niko as he runs around and plays with Khami. The three guys smile as Niko calls Khami’s name and runs as the little dog darts over to him.

“So, have you asked Y/N out yet?” Minho asks glancing over at Changbin.

“Wha? No! We’re just friends.” Changbin rushes out, the tips of his ears turning red.

“Oh, come on hyung!” Hyunjin scoffs shooting the older boy at look of disbelief. “We’re just friends with Y/N-” Hyunjin motions between himself and Minho. “You on the other hand are something totally different.”

“How am I any different?” Changbin questions and Minho huffs out a laugh.

“It’s a long list Changbin,” Minho states and Changbin rolls his eyes.

“Whatever…” He rubs the back of his neck and scans the area for Niko and Khami. Finding the two rolling around in the grass. Changbin stands up and cups his hands around his mouth, “Niko! Stay away from the pond!” Niko looks over at the three older boys and nods his head to show that he heard Changbin. Making sure that Niko moves away from the pond, Changbin sits down and rests his arms on his thighs. Turning his head to the side he frowns seeing the smirks on Minho and Hyunjin’s faces. “What? H-he can’t swim.”

“You act like a total badass, but the moment Y/N asks you to do something you roll over,” Hyunjin giggles.

“You’re a total dwaekki,” Minho teases and Changbin sucks his teeth with a pout. “But seriously Changbin, you should ask Y/N out. I think the two of you complement each other nicely.”

“I agree with Minho hyung. Can you even imagine how Y/N noona would look if she dressed up in leather like you?”

Changbin’s eyes darken at Hyunjin’s words and he glares at the two boys beside him, “Get the thought out of your mind.” Changbin is quick to snap at his two friends and Minho smirks while Hyunjin just laughs.

“Hyung!” Niko’s voice shouts and all three boys jump from the park bench. “Hyung!” Changbin’s eyes dart around looking for Niko and he panics when he can’t find him. “Hyung!” Niko’s shouts are filled with tears and Changbin’s heart feels heavy as the fear of the unknown starts to take over.

“Look!” Minho points out in front of them and Changbin’s eyes follow only to see that Niko is stuck in a tree and Khami is barking while running around in circles trying to get up to him.

“What the fuck?” Changbin groans, the fear quickly being replaced by relief and disbelief. “Hang on Niko! Hyung is coming!” Changbin runs over to the tree with Minho and Hyunjin right behind him. Hyunjin grabs Khami so that the small dog is out of the way and Minho laces his fingers together before he bends down. Looking at Minho, Changbin nods his head and quickly steps into Minho’s hands using the extra height to his advantage to grab onto one of the higher tree branches. Pulling himself up, Changbin climbs up the tree to Niko and slowly makes his way over to the crying boy. “Binnie is here Niko. Come to Binnie…” Changbin holds out his hand and Niko shakes his head too scared to move.

“Niko, Minho and Hyunjin hyung are down here!” Minho calls up. “Go to Changbin hyung, he won’t let you fall.”

Changbin moves a little closer to Niko on the branch, but not by much, the branch isn’t strong enough to hold his weight. “Niko…” Changbin thinks of what he can say to the little boy to make him feel better and he smile softly. “Nananananana, A ige aninde. Nananananana…Geurae igeoji let’s go! Nananananana…” Changbin sings in a funny voice to stop Niko’s tears. Down below Minho and Hyunjin both nod at each other and join in singing ‘My Pace’. Niko’s tears stop and he giggles hearing all the older boys singing in funny voices. Changbin wiggles his fingers towards Niko and slowly Niko makes his way over to him. Once Niko is within reach, Changbin scoops Niko into his side, “Hold on to Binnie okay? Don’t let go.” Changbin orders as he readies himself to swing down from the tree. Niko’s little arms lock around Changbin’s neck and his locks his legs around Changbin’s waist as best he can. Minho and Hyunjin keep singing as they watch from below making sure to be ready if Changbin needs any help getting down.

Taking a deep breath, Changbin grabs onto the tree branch that he is sitting on and he slides off it, making Niko scream as they free fall for a short time. Making sure Niko is secure and safe, Changbin continues to swing down from the tree and once he is on the ground, he wraps his arms around Niko and holds him tightly. “You were so brave, you did so good. Are you okay?” Changbin lifts Niko up a little to get a better look at his face and Niko nods his head. “You really scared me kiddo, don’t ever do that again yeah?”

“Sorry Binnie,” Niko mummers and he gives Changbin a big hug, burying his face in Changbin’s neck.

“Come on, let’s go get some ice cream.”

“Ice cream?!” Niko pops his head up at Minho’s suggestion and the guys all laugh. “Can I really have ice cream?”
