The Holidays in Columbus ‘18: Bexley Holiday Hop
On Sunday, the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual Holiday Hop, as shops on Main Street (plus a few on North Cassady Avenue) had specials, plus a passport for guests to enter for prizes. The afternoon ended with a tree lighting at Drexel Circle, plus the lighting of the Menorah for the first night of Hanukkah.
The Holidays in Columbus ‘18: Bexley Celebrates Hanukkah With a Helicopter Drop
This afternoon in Bexley, Ohio, the Jewish community celebrated Hanukkah with a unique celebration of its kind. It was so unique, that it was the first of its kind in Ohio. A helicopter dropped dreidels and gelt coins down onto the meadow at Jeffrey Park, which hosted the City of Bexley’s Hanukkah Lighting for the first time ever. The event was one of several events organized by Chabad Columbus this week for Hanukkah. The City of Bexley’s official menorah is still at the southwest corner of Broad Street and Drexel Avenue, outside of the Columbus School for Girls.
The Holidays In Columbus ‘18: Bexley Festival of the Arts and Yuletide Arts & Crafts Show
On Saturday, both the Bexley Festival of the Arts and Yuletide Arts and Crafts Show took place on Main Street in Bexley. The Bexley Festival of the Arts was held at Montrose Elementary School, where there was a crafts festival in the school gym, with vendors selling in the school cafeteria, as well. Just a few blocks west on Main Street, at Christ Lutheran Church, was the Annual Yuletide Arts and Crafts Show, as there were more artists and craftsmakers selling arts and crafts.
