What Babylon was in ancient Biblical times, our nations have become today.
Babylon was known in the Old Testament for being the most vile, wretched, horrible kingdom on the face of the planet.
Any sin that God had laid out, they had committed; greed, pride, sexual immorality, plundering of other nations, etc. You name, they’ve done it. And they were proud of it too.
Babylon became the spitting image of a nation who had decided to feign good and evil for themselves. They believed themselves to be higher than God, and that they were untouchable by all their surroundings nations. They thought their legacy was going to last forever.
Of course, God soon proved them wrong. But this isn’t the last we hear of Babylon in the Bible.
In the book of Revelation, Babylon is used as a symbol for all of the nations of the globe who have chosen to define good and evil for themselves.
These nations do not fear God, and are only interested in their own gain and influence on the earth. The Lord says that these nations will be hurled down on the last day, where God will finally defeat all evil and bring about a new era of peace.
All nations and countries across the globe have become new Babylons, as all have defined what is good and evil for themselves.
Take America for instance, with the influence of planned parenthood. Or the Middle East, with their persecutions of Christians.
It’s easy to despair when seeing these enemy’s influence in God’s good world, but as followers of Christ, we are told not to worry. God will deal with all of this evil in the coming future.
Right now, we’ve got a different assignment.
We are called to be watchmen (and women) of this world.
Just as the prophets were called by God to be watchmen for ancient Israel, warning them of God’s coming judgement on the nation, so are we called to be for this world.
The judgement is coming, and nobody will be excluded; poor or rich, white or black, young or old, man or woman. We will all be called before the Lord’s throne for the judgment of our souls.
God will not be the loving Father he’s shown himself to be here on earth. Rather, he will be the just judge of the universe, judging everyone based on their actions and thoughts; past, present, and future.
All those who have put their faith in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, and in his miraculous resurrection on the third day, will be spared the coming judgement.
This is why taking Jesus’ great commission (in Matthew 28:19-20) seriously is so important.
We are called to spread the message of our master to the masses, attempting to spare as many as we can from the coming judgement. We ourselves have experienced the grace of our God by being spared ourselves. As such, we are tasked with sharing this message of love and grace to those around us, hoping that they too will choose to experience this same divine mercy.
By doing this, we are calling dry bones to life. We become the vessels through which God uses to breathe new life into those around us. And in turn, is able to breathe new life into us as well.
We aren’t called to panic, we are called to purpose. And that purpose is to further the kingdom of God, and to rescue as many souls as possible from eternal damnation.
Nothing in life could ever be more important; right now, in the past, or in the future.
And if you, dear reader, wish to be spared from the last judgement, and you aren’t saved in Christ, then I’ve got good news for you.
It’s the Father’s will that all would look upon the son, and be saved from eternal damnation. All you have to do be have eternal life is to gaze upon Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, and humbly repent of your sins.
And if you don’t know how, I’ve attached a repentance prayer below.
I come to your presence, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Lord I ask you to forgive me, for all of my sins, and all of my faults.
Jesus, I believe that you are the son of God. And that you died on the cross, and resurrected on the third day for the salvation of my soul, and for the forgiveness of all of my sins.
Jesus, wash me, cleanse me, make me new, and fill me with your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
If you take this first step, then God’s holy word, which never lies, states that you have the God given right to be called a Child of the most high God. You have passed from death to life, and have entered into a new life, with Christ at the helm.
I wish you the best of luck in your journey, my friend. This is the start of something amazing!
God bless, Jesus loves you ✝️❤️
