[image: Two photos of an illustrated and typed zine called Quiet Riot AKA the Shy Sober Kid Zine, on "warm white" paper against a dark brown canvas bag. The first photo is the cover with the title and a drawing of four animals - a dog, a raccoon, an otter, and a bear - dressed like crusty punks, with three of them holding a can or a bottle that is implied to be alcohol with "xxx" written on them. The second photo is the zine open to the middle with text, and a drawing of a rabbit and a wolf outside with the rabbit wearing a bow tie and the wolf wearing a necklace.]
There's a really great new zine I've added to my distro: Quiet Riot AKA the Shy Sober Kid Zine. It's half-sized, in black & white, with mostly typed text and 6 pictures, it's 19 pages, and a compilation zine, and it's from Riot Brrrl Zines.
I really love Quiet Riot so much!! It really helped me to read it as a mixed-race queer & nonbinary/trans crusty punk anarchist with chronic anxiety and other madness who is pretty newly-sober & drug-free / straight edge, and struggling to avoid drinking & drugs. I felt a whole lot less alone after I read this zine.
More about Quiet Riot: It's written and illustrated by punks and anarchists, including folks of color & queer & trans peeps, and is partly about dealing with being shy, having anxiety, and having depression; overall about getting sober / working to stay sober, experiences with doing drugs & quitting drugs; and being sober / drug-free in the punk scene, anarchist community, in queer culture and such where there tends to be drinking and drug use.
There's not a trigger warning or content warning in the zine, but I will give it one. Trigger warning / content warning: alcohol, drugs, addiction, suicidality, anxiety, social pressure.
It's $2.50 (USD) per copy. You can buy it via my Etsy shop (link), or directly by mail-order from me.
