Missing the mountains and hot springs more than ever lately..
Hello! I just got new skates, bit I won't be skating until september. My skates are currently in their box, in the very little and thin 'skate guards' they came with. I bought new soakers too, and I was wondering if I should put the soakers on the blades now, and until september, or if it's not necessary since the blades haven't been used yet? I'm just so scared something might happen to them before I even start haha! Thank you very much!!!
If you haven’t skated in them, you don’t need to put soakers on them unless you’re storing them in an exceptionally humid place.

Soakers - Sauce Walka
is there some alternative to soakers?
I have a friend who uses a soft cloth and wraps her skates in pillow cases.
Basically anything that will stay on you blade and soak up any excess moisture. (towels, cloths, facewash cloths etc)
Hi! So I just got skates and I bought soakers online, but it turns out they're too small. I'm going to buy some this week when I go to the rink, so they should be fine without them if I've never worn the skates before, right?
Soakers absorb the moisture that condenses on skates when they’re cold. Since you haven’t skated in them yet, leaving the blades uncovered should be fine.
