Wally’s life has always been hectic, but the last few weeks had been even more so. He had figured out his uncle was The Flash, he blew up his garage to replicate his uncle’s experiment, and landed himself in the hospital for a few weeks. He could handle being in the hospital, no matter how much he hated it, but what had really tipped the scales was that his secret had come out to ruin his life. Barry had figured out what a huge asshole his dad was, and what he had been doing to Wally. By the time he was out of the hospital there was a custody battle going on. Wally had to testify and he had spent many nights crying out of stress while hiding in his aunt and uncles bathroom. He hid how upset he was most of the time. He was eleven, and his dad never liked him crying.
Now he was sitting outside of a Justice League meeting, a bandage still on his arm from the burns and his hair shorter than usual to compensate for what he had lost in the explosion. He was waiting for the meeting to be over and his uncle to get out, the only reason he was there in the first place was because his aunt had been called out to report the effects of the attack the Justice League had just stopped. He was a reading a book that he had to for school, only much faster than he could before. He wasn’t used to his newly gained superspeed and would find himself at the bottom of the page before a second had passed.
He sighed, setting the book down and adjusting himself in the uncomfortable chair. He had always wanted to meet the Justice League, to be in this building. But never like this, not as a citizen. He wanted to be a hero like Barry was, he even had powers now. But instead he was stuck, reading a boring book he could barely understand or pay enough attention to, and adjusting to the fact that he could sprint a four second mile.
He really wished he had a distraction.
