do you think we'll have rhys' pov in acowar? because i'm dying to see mor through his eyes and learn new stuff that happened in the past (i'm mostly just pumped to learn a ton more about mor bc she's just so insteresting???? just think about how much more content we'll get about mor and her past [hopefully more than we got in acomaf] i'm actually dying to know about her history)
(This turned into something I didn’t expect and/or intend. Somewhat of a long moriel headcanon at the end, okie dokie?)
I think the chances are pretty good that we will. Since acomaf was originally going to be in both their povs, and we did get that one chapter. And it basically needs to be, or else we won’t know what is going on anywhere outside of the Spring Court. And since Tam Tam will probably want to keep Feyre in the dark anyway… I honestly don’t know if she’ll know much about what’s going on? Hopefully she got a whole lot of time with Az learning some spy skills that we don’t know about, because… otherwise what’s she going to do? Hope that Tam has suddenly changed, PLUS trusts her, and is going to like… let her sit in on meetings? And honestly, she doesn’t even know that much about the political or military structures of Prythian? Relatively? Anyway… She’s resourceful and bright, and very, very invested - she’ll work it out. I have faith in our Defender of the Rainbow.
When I first read acomaf and saw Rhys’ chapter a part of me died inside for two reasons: 1) YAY RHYS’ PERSPECTIVE, and 2) OH SHIT, RHYS’ PERSPECTIVE, which reinforced the fact that they were separated. :(
I don’t know if there will be more POVs than those two - part of me wants more, and part of me doesn’t? Because if we get more then YAY POTENTIAL MOMENTS™ where characters who we never get to see alone together get to be… alone together? (IE MORIEL). But also it might split the narrative too much it might be… too much to handle? At the same time, there are SO MANY THINGS that need to be worked out between all the characters, so much resolution to various things (IE MORIEL) and it will be difficult to see all of that without the multiple POVs?
And then there is the whole issue of the other books. Which… need to still focus on the Inner Circle. Like, if they are about some other rando characters that we don’t care about, then… I might be annoyed. I’ll get over it. But I might be annoyed. But… if they are about Cassian/Mor/Az then I will die of happiness. Because there is so much that we don’t know about them still, and so much I want to know? They are my Faves™. This would mean that… lacking more POVs in Acowar might not be such a big deal. But also that we would have to wait even longer to find some things out.
Basically, I am 100% there with you and Here For This if we get to learn more about Mor. I don’t think this is anything we are likely to get, but I’d love to know more about what they were all like when they first met, to actually see what happened. Or just to see what she is like not around Feyre, not around Rhys. And what I wrote below, basically, is the kind of thing I NEED TO SEE.
****** OK moriel headcanon/drabble/thing alert, you can proceed if you wish.
I really, really need to see what her interaction is like around Az when it’s just the two of them. If I had one wish… even if it’s not The Sex… if it were like… talking about their Feelings. And maybe… holding hands… maybe she could put a gentle hand on his knee and he would cover it with his own, rubbing his thumb in circles over her skin. And then he would brush a hair from her face, and she would lean into his hand, and he would reassure her that she is strong, that she will make it through this and see Feyre again. And he will tell her that he will be there, no matter what she needs. He will go to the ends of the earth for her. And she just whispers… I know. Then he kisses her forehead.
She starts to redress the wound on his chest and she lets her fingers linger there a bit too long on his skin, feeling the muscle and warmth and wanting to cling to that like a lifeline. Her eyes begin to glaze over, her thoughts taking a more… carnal turn. And he clears his throat so she looks up at him, startled to have gotten lost in… her thoughts about him.
I think… at this point she will want to ask him a question, but she isn’t sure if it’s the right time. But also it might be a better time than they are ever going to get. So she says it. That she knows that he loves her, and that she loves him, and that… they both know that they know, and she thought that part of her was going to die, when she saw him injured. That the only thing holding her back from ending the war right there was the fact that he would have left her alone. And she couldn’t let someone as loyal and strong and kind to those he loves… leave this world.
And he is trying to hold it together, trying to tell her to stop, but he wants to hear this, he needs to hear it. It is… something that he knew already. But hearing her say it - makes it real. He decides to stop her because he doesn’t want her to feel like she is pressuring him into anything. This is an unusual situation, right? Life or death, everything is on the line, but what about when it all goes back to normal? Will she still feel the same? Because he knows that he will. So he tells her this. He says that he will be there, when the dust settles and it’s all said and done. He’ll be there, waiting for her, like he always has.
And then she smiles, and she takes his hand, and they sit like this for a while, until they have to get up and work, because after all, there is a war going on around them. And as much as they want to exist in a world with just the two of them, that day is not today.
