Just as a general timeline for how i think the Pelodamia fall down went:
(Note: Pelops is around 28~29 and Hippodamia 24~25 when they get married)
1. Pre-Race era: They were starting to know each other while Hippodamia helped Pelops get ready for the race. Hippodamia falls for Pelops. They probably had a secret make-out session.
2. Inmediatly after race: Pelops wins, tries to convince Hippodamia to search for another husband, but lets himself fall for her when she reassures that she wants him for husband. They marry in grand celebration. Pelops kills Myrtilos. Y'know just fairytail happy ending
3. The First 9 years of marriage: Pretty "good". They have most of their babies around here. (6 of them) They seem like a happy marriage on the outside but there's "small" issues that slowly but surely build up and start to leave cracks around.
4. The 10th to 12th years of marriage: This is actually where Pelops starts doing his escapades to the sea. Still not cheating on Hippodamia but is getting there. Hippodamia starts growing paranoid that Pelops no longer loves her. Intimacy is low but they still manage to have other 1 healthy kiddo around here.
5. The 13th year of marriage: In this year Pelops actively starts cheating on Hippodamia, while she was pregnant with what would be her last pregnancy as well (yeah, douche move). One day, Pelops just arrives with Chrysippus who is just a few months younger than Hippodamia's own newborns (I headcannon she had Pittheus and Troezen last as twins). Things just spiral
6. The next 10 years: Things are bad. Really bad. Hippodamia practically expelled Pelops from the bed. He just sleeps on the couch lmao. He still tries to do the best he can. He's not going to beg Hippodamia for forgiveness that he doesn't think he deserves. Instead, he tries to be a more present dad. He specially focus on Chrysippus as he feels he is the one that needs the most support. Ofc Hippodamia doesn't like that.
When Chrysippus is 10, he gets kidnapped.
