Lightning Returns: The Savior's Choice
Might just be me overthinking things, but something just hit me when I watched The Savior's Choice trailer for Lightning Returns.
In the past trailer, we heard Snow hinting that he yearns to die, right? But then, in the new trailer, when Lightning offers to help him with 'dying/have the Angel of Death save his soul', he brashly turns around with a blatantly agitated expression and grabs her by the collar, yelling, "Dammit, what kind of answer is that!?"
Isn't that kind of contradictory? So here's what I thought, and I'm really tempted to turn it into a fic:
---
How could she be so deadpan about it? Snow whirled around, upset, ignoring the blade that pressed dangerously close to his neck, grabbing Lightning's collar and pulling her close to him.
She can help him with that? If he wanted?
Light...
"What kind of answer is that!?"
He didn't know why he was being so angry about it; he did want to die, right? But somehow, he wasn't expecting Lightning to agree so willingly.
He expected her to refuse, tell him that she didn't want him dead, that she needed him by her side until the end of the world, fighting, together.
But then again, this is Lightning. Unpredictable like her namesake.
 ...Dammit.
 ---
EDIT:Â And have any of you seen Light's closeup afterwards? There's emotion in her eyes, but I can't be sure what it is. Uncertainty? Regret? Sorrow in seeing Snow as a broken man as opposed to his optimistic former self? Whatever it is, she looks hurt.
