Describe your character: 2 - Their smile, 13 - their embarrassing memory from years ago, 14 - how they react to burning their tongue on food, and 24 - what motivates them.
Nora has a big, sweet smile. Although not very toothy unless she's laughing at something.
xiii. their embarrassing memory from years ago:
One time she was staying at her parents' house while they were away on a vacation and at this time she was dating Victor. They'd been dating for quite a while by then and started smooching and whatnot and eventually they should've at least gone to a bedroom but they didn't and her father wound up coming home ahead of schedule and at least caught a glimpse. Wouldn't have been so bad if Nora hadn't been in an early stage of undress, but she was, and they were all pretty mortified.
xiv. how they react to burning their tongue on food:
She's pretty careful with food, but she's not as careful with drinks and when she burns her tongue on say, hot chocolate or coffee or tea, she'll likely wince and mutter something like 'shit' quietly. She doesn't swear often and it's mostly reserved for that type of scenario.
xxiv. what motivates them?
Her own optimism, I think. The past few years for Nora haven't been lovely but she keeps pushing through because even through all the bad, she loves life too much. She's had a near death experience-- she was clinically dead for a brief moment, and in the months leading up to that I think she developed a real fondness for still being alive that's stuck with her. Yes bad things happen but even after all the loss she's experienced she's still very thankful to still be around, if that makes any sense. A big, big part of this is why she is still so blindly attached to her husband, too. She does genuinely love him, and that's a huge part of it but the fact of the matter is he saved her life, and although it's an unconscious thought and drive, she feels as though she owes him her companionship and everything because of that too. And big reminder again that that is an unconscious drive. Nora loves Victor, and that's why she stays with him despite everything. But as a writer writing a character, that is another motive for that too that she doesn't even know about.
