fingers numb with the cold nipping at her skin felt painful against the strings of her guitar as lucy gray was perched next to the warm fire the moment a SNAP of a branch caused her head to throw in the direction it came from, small figure immediately shooting up to her feet and her heart BEGAN TO RACE. countless nights were plagued with being discovered by coriolanus no matter HOW FAR up north she had escaped, no matter how many months and months had faded by and he hadn't found her ( yet. ) the fear was always there lurking underneath her brave face. if she were a little more in denial, she'd mistaken this for yet another nightmare that she'd eventually wake up from. but as body froze and a pool of men in white suits, those familiar suits, trapped her .. lucy gray felt the horror of it sink deep into her bones. peacekeepers. this was no figure of her imagination this time.
naturally, running on instinct, she'd attempt to FLEE again but soon found out how outmatched she truly was. there was a peacekeeper aligning themselves from all sides, no amount of endless forest line could help her now. it becomes a blur to her how she's free one moment and then caged the next, her life of freedom ripped from her just like that. all her belongings, even her most precious possession, her guitar .. gone! it's hard to keep her breathing normal or grasp any of this is real as doe eyes frantically searched around once she tired herself from her fight. soon she'd be put on a train against her will and somewhere during the journey she'd put the puzzle pieces together long before the capitol's cityscape would erect from the view of the window that warm gaze begrudgingly shifted on.
winter flower crown that had gotten disheveled in the midst of the fight she had put up before being tossed in this cage, sending her to the capitol, gets angrily plucked off her head. having to busy her hands before she'd officially lose her sanity. plucking the petals from the winterberry stuck to the crown she had created earlier in the day, soft pink like her long sleeve shirt underneath the pastel blue coat she had knitted and brown skirt that touches her ankles. heart beat picked up in fear all over again once she was escorted from her spot and suddenly she was out in the open of not her woods, but the capitol as the bitter wind rudely hit her in the face, tossing dark curls behind her shoulders and soulful brown eyes incredulously scanned her whereabouts.
it was officially worse than her nightmares. felt just like a BIRD trapped INSIDE A CAGE. flowers crumbled in the palm of her small hand that was nervously clutching a little too tightly, petals fluttering into the wind behind her and left behind while she put the rest of the disheveled flower crown back onto her head before hand fell to her side and taking CAUTIOUS STEPS out into the vulnerably open. finger nails digging into the pastel blue faux wool of her coat. stomach tossing and flipping, pulling into terrible anxious knots. it was the identical feeling she had the day at the reaping or the day she was thrown into those games. what was about to happen? her fate had to be coming to an abrupt end soon. no song, no rhyme, could even help her settle an ounce of bravery inside her this time.
ππππ ππππ π πππππππ ππππ as she fearfully looked towards a bunch of buildings, must be just waiting out for her confrontation with coriolanus. imagining it will be deadly from the way he hadn't reacted all that well to her fleeing. after all, it's why she fled in the first place. has a strong hunch and fear that he won't hesitate to put her ON his kill list, especially after her πππ‘π‘ππ ππ ππππ. assumptions planted into her head that's WHY she's been dragged back here, to be maimed and slaughtered. was it the cold unraveling wind making tears STING at her sweet brown eyes or the excruciating fear running vibrantly through her blood with .. that thought? with the fact there was no way she could r u n this time. no flight response available at all.
