I’m not simple nor am I easy The hills are steep and the thrill can be sickening I nurture and grow my garden of self But sometimes I feel doubt linger, thickening
Flowers are most gorgeous in sunlight but rain will fall Shower my mind often drown out my sense I won’t allow any storm to test my resilience And any doubt will not prevail pretence
The darkest night can’t prevent the morning that follows Daylight will come and swallow the night Not necessarily will the darkness be a small meal But the sun will eventually devour it - bite by bite
I won’t lose my integrity through any means Try not to let any anger become spite I’ll take any opportunity I come across To learn how to grow from each fight
Trust me that I’ll show you each crevasse Each break in the earth or wilted greenery My garden is large and built from deep within my heart Someday you’ll watch from afar the scenery
Let me take you on a tour by the hand with care My desire is to show you all I’ve known I invite you to stay by my side as I plant new seeds Don’t get lost in my past - winds that have already blown
Only I know every path every plant and its roots I’d like to show you my spectrum of colour every hue Don’t perceive the weather as permanent damage Understand my intentions are unconditionally true
(W.I.P., getting back to writing and that begins with poems - an expression of emotion that brings a different kind of satisfaction than most creative outlets)
