Now Available: Snapshot Existence
My eighth book, Snapshot Existence, is now available for purchase in digital and paperback form from Amazon. In fact, it’s been available since July 2019, but rather than focusing on marketing, I immediately moved on to the next project (several projects, actually). However, that’s just the point I’ve reached in my life—wanting to focus my efforts on finishing things instead of promoting what is already done; there’s so much inside me that I want to get out and complete.
I truly feel Snapshot Existence is the best book I’ve written thus far, being very personal to me and complex in execution. It is a science fiction drama revolving around an extra-terrestrial family on a planet where the inhabitants’ culture has been greatly influenced by observations of Earth. Furthermore, it is very existential in nature, centering on a main character whose soul becomes trapped in a void in which his only view out comes via photographs located in the houses of his loved ones. It is from these vantage points where the story unfolds, offering him a glimpse of a once tight-knit family unit deteriorating.
I wanted Snapshot Existence to pack an emotional punch, one readers can relate to, thereby hitting deeper and resonating more than any book I’ve previously written. I am confident that goal was achieved.

I’d say a new post is looong overdue, especially considering how much has happened since the last one.
First and foremost, my eighth book, Snapshot Existence, is now available for purchase from Amazon in digital and paperback form (has been since July 2019 >_>). I truly do feel this is my best book to date, and I will type more about it in a forthcoming post.
Currently, I am still in the process of editing my ninth book, Hornworm, of which I am hoping to finish within a month. True, while the first draft has been done for months and I’ve had plenty of time to work on it since the COVID-19 lockdown took effect, instead I’ve been focusing on projects that have been on the back burner for nearly two years. Furthermore, I enjoy writing in coffee shops or other locations away from home, which has not been an option of late, thus why I shifted my focus to projects that can only be worked on at home; these have mostly been videography projects, as the majority of footage for them had previously been shot some time ago.
Rather than pack every project I’ve done since the last post into this one, I’m going to be spreading things out, dedicating a post to each project (most of which are new episodes of my YouTube/web series, BrandonBits).
Amidst everything, I had a move and new full-time job to contend with—it not being full time for the past couple months, allowing me to finally get caught up on stuff.

Boy, I have been one busy fella. On the social front, there was a convention, large bowling event, and the occasional party and get-together I attended. Aside from all that, I've also been burying myself in projects.
My eighth book, Snapshot Existence, is nearing completion. Currently, I'm having a co-creator read the latest draft, give me his input, do some character design, and provide the cover art (and I can't thank him enough). Therefore, I'm considering the project out of my hands for the time being. Once he's finished doing his thing, I'll make adjustments and publish.
With Snapshot Existence currently in limbo, I've already begun writing my ninth book, Hornworm, which is going to be quite a strange beast, being both a horror anthology and linear drama. Considering the progress I've made, I anticipate finishing the rough draft in about a month or so.
While working on books eight and nine, I'm also doing research for my tenth book, This Dinosaur Future I Dreamed, of which I already have an outline and a few pages that were written a couple years ago. I'm very excited about this book, which was inspired by a series of dreams I had, and have been wanting to focus on it for quite some time.
Apart from writing, I've also been throwing my web series into the mix that features my own original music.

Further research for Jesse's Influence and Jesse's Legacy is off to a slower start than anticipated. I guess I felt in need of a break from "work" after having expended so much energy completing both rough drafts in such a short period of time. Plus, we've had so few nice days lately that I felt the need to get outside and do stuff whenever they occurred instead of sitting inside. I'm quite sure I'm still on track for publishing in spring.
While I may be behind with research/editing, I am ahead of schedule when it comes to working on Snapshot Existence. I've been using my breaks at my day job to work on that and I'm happy to say I'm just a few chapters away from finishing the rough draft. I imagine that will happen in another week or two. Therefore, don't be surprised if a month or so after the two Jesse books are published, Snapshot Existence pops up as well. Since it will require far less research than my previous books, completing it should seem like a breeze to me. The same goes for Hornworm, which will be finished around the same time (more details later).
Once those are done I'll be focusing on the dinosaur book inspired by my dreams that I tweeted about in October. I'm calling it This Dinosaur Future I Dreamed. Considering I began work on it back then I imagine it'll be published before the end of the year.
Readers may be wondering about the four horror books centering on marine creatures I was supposedly working on. Worry not, they're coming. I figured it would be best to get some more personal projects out of the way first. Since they all have similar themes (marine creatures go on a rampage) and all fall under the same scientific field, when researching one I'm researching them all. This should allow me to write them all simultaneously, with the goal of having the rough drafts nearly finished around the end of this year/early next year. It's a gargantuan goal to meet, but one I feel capable of doing.
I know there's a lot of talk of rough drafts, but my plan is to get a bunch of them done, then publish titles one after the other at astonishing speed.

I have some exciting news to report. I have just finished another rough draft. I originally planned to finish it in early January, but got side-tracked. Still, a month behind schedule isn't bad for me. Having reached this stage, I now feel comfortable sharing some details of what I'm working on.
The two rough drafts I've recently finished are parts one and two of The Jesse Trilogy; the first book being Jesse's Conveyance. The title of the second book is Jesse's Influence, while the third is Jesse's Legacy. All I'll say for now is the series progresses into different, much darker territory than the first book.
I'll be taking a couple months to do further research and edit, with a plan to publish both books at the same time this spring.
As for other projects, I have the rough draft of a dramatic sci-fi book in the works called Snapshot Existence that is two-thirds complete, and another more personal project that will be released shortly after. Once these are done I'll be able to refocus my attention on zoological horror.
