We've been working on JavaScript for the last couple days - our first experience with a completely different general purpose language. Most of our work so far has been revisiting Ruby projects we did in the first couple weeks of class. Yesterday afternoon we completed almost the entire first week's work in a single day. And in a totally new language! How far we've come.
Today we worked on Towers of Hanoi and Tic Tac Toe - before lunch. Again, these took us the better part of a week last time. Today we finished them in a couple hours. I'm not particularly enamored with JS yet, but as my understanding of it grows, I'm starting to like it a bit more.
This afternoon was focused on building a snake game. Building a new game in a new language wasn't quite as easy as revisiting old projects, although still substantially easier than it would have been in our first few weeks. My partner and I went down a slightly wrong path initially, which threw us off near the end of the day. Luckily we'll have a chance to come back to it tomorrow morning.
