SMME Hacking - The Business StartUp Process

Reflecting on the first couple of days of the new Startup and the process to start a business from scratch, again. It’s different.

So much has changed and so much of it is so much better. The online and digital tools available now are powerful and work well. The basic steps haven’t changed, but the way that you can now do it has, and that’s been interesting to reflect on. Keeping true to the overall objective: “Let’s do this startup completely online, and follow the steps and process we would offer a SMME startup business to take” has been a good guideline to follow. Trying to do all of it myself has been a lot more demanding. 

So, the progress to get #StartUpv3 going has been good.

Company Registration has begun and compliance is underway.

Domain Registration done.

Website Design and Development underway.

Email setup and configurations completed.

Corporate Identity underway.

Company Profile underway.

Social Media Channels setup and starting to be used for publishing.

Invoicing Setup Done.

First Client and Project (for free) completed.

Sales and CRM in place.

Pitching.

Meetings.

Coffees.

Conversations.

Road ahead... many many more steps and parts to complete lie ahead. Having had a number of catch-up conversations and coffees to go with them, the opportunities are familiar and also very unexpected in some cases. Good progress towards turning conversations into commercial agreements and projects now need to come into the planning for each day.

Speaking opportunities that offer some awareness and access to new potential clients also coming up, and a few really Interesting conversations after a conference this week means a lot more to add to the table. This is good. Now all I need to do is focus and chase the best opportunities to bill, and then nurture the other conversations and thought starters to the next phase - oh, and do the work too. That’s also important right?!

The journey has begun, and I’m on it, committed and going forward strong (with a limp in the throat) towards the First Billings and New Clients.
