Smitty 2's Official Key Art!
After days to weeks of working on Smitty 2, I think it's finally time to make the key art to promote the game. I got so many ideas for it, including:
Smitty and Bunbunny jump to the camera with the first world in the background, along with some enemies
Smitty happily jumps at the camera while his friends (Tara, Nana, Bonnie, Frank, etc.) are either running away from the enemies or following Smitty
Smitty and Milly run to the camera, signifying that Milly is going to be a playable character, alongside 2 Bunbunnies
And what I ended up with, Smitty and Bunbunny run through the grassy greens of Emerald Plains at sunrise, with a Fireslug and 3 Cuares stacked together like slimes in Slime Rancher.
I think I haven't announced here yet that I will be putting Balls n' Stars 2 aside to finally start working on the sequel to Smitty's Journey, a game featuring my mascot character, Smitty. I both announced the temporary pause on BnS2 and began development on this game on April 1, and obviously it wasn't an April Fool's joke.
Well, time to finally show the latest progress on Smitty 2!
So far, I've worked on the character movement, sound effects (just one of them), tiles and parallax backgrounds. I've also done one music, but that one is for something else that I'm not gonna announce... yet. I'll start composing the music for the first world soon, so stay tuned.
Oh, and if you haven't look closely at the tags, I switched from Unity to Godot for the game, because I want to learn more about the full potential this engine holds. Heck, I find it much easier to work on a platformer with Godot than Unity.
I will be posting more progress and any stuff related to Smitty 2 (and the lore of Dripsdale) once every few days, so keep an eye out for those.
Smitty 2 - Shockwave Ability
Like in the first game, Smitty can wield the Shockwave ability to cast... shockwaves to get rid of enemies much easier.
Well, relatively speaking, because the waves can go through 2 weak enemies or one 2-hit enemy.
