Ok but since we know Tommy’s really smart, what if Tommy’s in super advanced classes, and when he says he’s bad at math it’s actually that he struggles with math that’s like two or three grade levels above where most kids his age are. So he asks the dsmp group chat for help with his math, and after he sends it there’s a minute long pause as everyone realizes that what they thought would be easy math that they’d know how to help with, is actually math that they’d either never taken or struggled with themselves, and they have to wait for the one person on the server who actually knows how to do it to be available. Meanwhile the others are all reassuring Tommy that it really is okay that he isn’t getting this math first try and that that doesn’t mean he’s bad at it.
