AU. As the first British footballer to come out at the prime of his career, it helps that Louis Tomlinson is in a long-term, committed relationship. Even if that relationship is fake. (Featuring Niall as Louis' favourite teammate, Liam as Louis' agent, and Zayn as Liam's boyfriend, who just happens to be good friends with one Harry Styles.)

Summary: Raised in a Muggle orphanage, Harry arrives at Hogwarts a bitter boy. Unusually intelligent, he's recruited by the Unspeakables and the Death Eaters at a young age. As he grows older, he constantly has to struggle to keep his footing around a manipulative and bored Dark Lord, who fancies mind games and intellectual entertainment. (Currently being re-edited.)
This fic is a long time fandom favourite for this pairing. The writing is amazing and the character development impeccable. It's a long read, but definitely worthwhile. Harry's journey through adolescence, the dark discoveries of his past and the struggle to prove himself are depicted amazingly well, as well as the slow, realistic evolution of his feelings towards everyone around him. The mind games between him and Voldemort are engaging and tricky - an absolute delight to read. The only warning I'd put here is slight gore and dark themes of insanity and the madness of power as well as many references to incest (though it doesn't actually occur in this story).
