Air-cooled engines have to have air! Overheating is the number one cause of engine failure. You can help prevent overheating by: 1. Using the right brand and viscosity of engine oil. 2. Keeping an eye on your engine oil level and health. 3. Keeping the top of the engine clean from debris. 4. Bought this as a project probably a couple years ago, finally making time to get it done. Starter motor was stuck and I assumed a magnet let go inside the motor which is common on Hondas. Turned out the top bushing and starter gear was badly seized. First attempt at oil blackening. Needed a threaded rod so the carb could have an air filter mounted, but couldn’t find the correct size. Ended up making my own threaded adapter on the lathe, then to protect it from rusting, I tried out oil blackening for the first time.
