What are some small witchy things someone can do throughout the day?? I love witchcraft, but time constraints make it kind of hard to do bigger spells
Hi Anon.
I’m sure I can think up a couple things for you. Like blessing or enchanting meals with some kitchen witchery. I’m a fan of drawing sigils in the bottom of my mug with honey and the tip of a knife before I pour my morning tea. You could always do a cleansing shower in the morning (or at night and add a little grounding before bed while you soak), maybe light some incense or herbs while preparing for the day. In a normal world with no pandemic, if you have a commute to work/school, you can always listen to some witchy audiobooks or podcasts. It’s all about squeezing little things like that into stuff you already have to do. And before you know it, you’ve done half a dozen little spells before lunch.
Some types of magic that I’d look into that could be quick or easily incorporated into daily life would be: Kitchen witchcraft, sigils, knot magic, petitions and written spells, technomancy (really vague, I know, but there’s plenty of spells you can do with your phone. Maybe find a tarot app, or use and art app for designing sigils or art related spells), charms, glamours, and I’m sure people can post more in the comments and reblogs.
Some other options would be to spend what little time you have prepping for larger spells. There’s some magic in that prep time. Spend that 5 minutes organizing your supplies so they’re easier to get to. Take a moment to bless some oil for anointing a candle for a spell you have planned tomorrow. You don’t have to do it all at once and you can spread out the work that goes into a spell over weeks or months if needed. After a few days you might be able to get everything set up for that big spell you wanted to do, and it’ll only take half an hour instead of 3, because you got it done bit by bit.
Similarly, you can always do spells that are ongoing projects. Like spending a couple minutes working on your Altar, if you have one. I often spend a little bit of time where I can working on a long term project, like a really intricate wood carving.
I hope that gave you some ideas, Anon. If you need anything else or some followup info, feel free to let me know. And if anyone else has some ideas of how to get some quick witchy stuff and spells mixed into their day, please let us know. I’m sure everyone can benefit from sharing little things like this.

Last post of the strawberry moon over Upper Lake I promise.
The spell I mentioned doing in my last post was a version of a notice-me-not spell I do sometimes. I just chanted it in my head while driving since my kids were either listening to the audio book I had playing a lot of the time or were sleeping, can’t remember now what was happening at the time, just that it was dark and I knew one of my break lights was out. We drove two (western US) states away and we were far from home. I just wanted to be able to keep driving without getting pulled over by a cop.
As I recall the words I used were:
“I pass by unseen. I pass by unseen. I pass by unseen.
You are busy. You don’t see me. (3x)
Notice me not. (3x)”
I think I probably did the entirety of that chant a few times as well.
Now obviously if a cop is feeling vindictive, extra vigilant or observant, etc, this won’t work as well. If you have a vanity plate or a flashy car it probably won’t work as well (mine is a dusty 20 year old minivan with duct tape on one of the windows and a door handle to warn carpool kids not to open that door cause it doesn’t close right lol - and I have the original plate number). If you’re driving recklessly it won’t work. Your mileage (hehe) may vary.
Also shoutout to my car for getting us to school, work, trips, etc for several years. I’ve done many prayers and spells for that thing and I’m so grateful it’s still hanging in there since we can’t afford to get another one rn
Still not done traveling for the week. I’m so looking forward to resting next week.
Really simple spell tonight while laying in bed. Just charging the rain water that falls into my potted plants with the waxing crescent moon to grow strong and help them be happy and abundant.
I live in a high desert so I’m just so grateful when it rains 🖤✨

Small Spells: Softly, Your Life Becomes Enchanted by Lida Pavlova
is a really delightful... and yes, casually magical book.
For me, this relationship with the spirit world expresses itself in folklore, and in small, peculiar rituals, and in allowing myself to be exactly as strange as my heart wants me to be.
(That one was for me.)
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust.
Forgive thy past tresspassers to rise as thou must.
Heart yearning for answers give not into lust.
Bless bittersweet lessons,
In healing we trust.
