My favourite thing about this episode is the way they explained Lusamine’s state, basically Nihilego is tapping into her life long desire of meeting an Ultra Beast and making her act like a child protective of its new favourite toy, so yeah it’s kinda like the games where Nihilego amplifies a person’s already existing qualities, so Lusamine is not 100% a helpless victim, she definitely had some issues beforehand (though she’s definitely not evil in any way but that ship has long sailed, alas). Action wasn’t that well animated and there was a lot of running from place to place (+there was an annoyingly dragged out scene of them trying to destroy a mountain that they could’ve simply jumped over, just to show that Solgaleo was stronger than the other Mons), but it was mostly build up for next week so here’s hoping that’ll deliver. I do like how Lusamine kept gradually dropping more Pokemon as she was running away and a part of the group always stayed behind to deal with it while Satoshi and Lilie kept following the big bad (well, it’s kind of a generic formula but whatever it works). And I love how Rowlet and Litten came for the classmate’s rescue, like not to disrespect them or anything but they HAVE been specifically pointed out to be extremely weak in battles in the Kanto arc and sleepover episode so makes sense that they’d need some help (tho it could be more about them being caught up the Teeter Dance, they’ll probably hold their own next week). Of course Rowlet ruined the moment immediately lolol (for the characters I mean, not me. I’m all for some fun even in a situation like this). Looking forward to the Rowlet/Steenee combo next week~ The big Lilie and Clefable scene again suffers from lack of prior build up, like we knew there was SOMETHING since she used to raise it as a Clefairy and she has that Cleffa doll, just would’ve liked to have seen more to REALLY care. But oh well, twas pretty nice regardless.
