being a teacher entails the responsibilities of a role model, more so than any head boy or prefect around. it also means that he cannot so openly ogle at his wife as he passes by the potions classroom ( on purpose ), and that he must instead make time in the morning before his first class and after breakfast to accommodate any students that needed his guidance.

at least it’s in the first-floor corridor. no stairs for him this morning. it does wonders to him every monday morning, which means that he’s at the very least gracious when he opens the door not five minutes into his mug of coffee.

             dearest lisa,

             i write this letter in hopes that...well...that we can talk again. ever since your brother interrupted our conversation last week, i had barely seen you. and frankly, i was scared to approach you as well. how many times has this happened already? i’ve lost count. i know the reasons why your brother doesn’t want us to talk but i thought...i thought...as your friend...you would somehow fight. or at least show that you didn’t want me to leave. i really tried hard to not let it get to me but this time, i won’t stand for it.

            i really need your assistance with homework. my grade is hanging by a thin thread. and i want to hang myself with said thread instead. please save me. i’ll be waiting for you in the library. bring the troops (your notes).

(/ when the influx of new students came this year, jongdae was quite sure he’d be seeing her among the hundreds of curious pairs of eyes and gaping mouths. he digs into his pockets, endlessly searching for something that he’s been keeping for this moment while he skims through the crowd of first years) excuse me, please (/ yes, he remembers everything his mother had lectured him a few years back when he didn’t know what polite meant. the crowd gets thicker in the middle, a bizarre array of colors here and there. a few “new” hufflepuffs wave at him and he’s obliged to do the same. his mother would’ve been so happy that he remembered common courtesy – except that he didn’t quite hear anything from them lately, much after the yellow paint he has painted on their bloodline) lisa! (/ he tries very hard to focus on her face, not the necktie she wore. the crowd slowly found its way elsewhere and she’s there, right there before him) congratulations for getting sorted into slytherin. father must be proud.
