Slugterra slug rescueAU part 10
Im feeling a bit of new confidence today so I wanted to rewrite the poorly done character from the other day to make it up to yall, if you’d like to put your oc in feel free! The rescue always needs volunteers
-the newly renovated ghoul room is now accommodating the more delicate slug recovery. Elderly slugs which have more experience thanks to their long lives have found their way in thanks to some of the volunteers who have soft spots for them being unable to say no.
-to the directors amazement a group collected and started humming which attracted someone very special from the shadow clan. The leaders own youngling. Assuming it was a good learning experience the director raised no question at it. Only got Eli, to show him and observed as the young child curled around the slugs, more creeping closer as the little one faintly glowed and hummed.
-from what the director could gather, the youngling had an advanced ability to heal. After an hour or so they calmed down and the little one fell asleep covered in slugs. “Must be a sign of a good person” the director mused ruffling the young Shane’s hair as they left grabbing a blanket and covering the child.
-if you where as lucky as them to be that close to one without the eminent threat of death you’d notice a few things. A delicate mushroom like pattern that glowed down the back of their clothes and over their tail, tiny ears which weren’t held stiff like horns and would wander curiously grabbing like a babes fist, or the faint sound of whistling coming from their little nose.
-the director didn’t know what came over them, perhaps instinct, maybe it was only part of their soul but they worried their head would be cold. So they took a pillow from the office, covered it with a clean tshirt and ever so carefully wrapped a scarf they had made long ago carefully tucking the edges from the child’s face and with a gentle, press of their palm left them to their rest, but not without leaving something for them to eat by the door and Joy curled up to rest as a guard.
The director slept outside of their room on the cot which they had carried so that the sound of dragging wouldn’t disturb the pup and once again surprised themself with good rest.
Before dawn they awoke hoping to send off the child with a good warm meal only to find them, their blanket and scarf gone.
It was that following night they learned of a superstition. A legend? No matter what it was it must have been true. Because a sleeping shadow clan brought good news and safety.
With just a lick to her face and a tug on the sleeve the director found someone. Somefew. A slug had had a clutch of eggs which were beggining to hatch. Without time to gasp they could hear stirring from outside, which not even Joy let alone Pride would bark at. They only opened the door and the shadow clan were back. The youngling proudly draped in the warm scarf like a little babushka, head held high as they led their leader through the house to the whelping room where the mother already began cleaning her young with the help of even cookie and burpy
The youngling tugged on their parents arm wanting to reach out and pick one up but with only a smile even the director could tell it was a reminder to simply wait. These young would need time themselves to be ready.
Brushing back the scarf, the little one was given a kiss on the forehead and sent toward the director as the adults helped. Being given a hug, to their shock, they brought them away to cut up fruits and prepared protein for the new parent and babes. Despite their dislike of the blenders noise the child was happy to assist, any child would be proud to help. And the director had fascinating tricks and Ms.mary could make the apples look like birds.
As they walked back, hoping to keep the director from falling from poor balance on account of their lack of a tail, the child’s own wrapped around their arm as they guided them in silent steps. Joy was standing guard at the door with even Pride to assist.
