When do you do your writing and what inspires you?
Honestly, I'm almost always writing, whether it's a thought or a poem, on paper or in my head. So there's nothing specific I can say about when I write, except I'll sit and write it all down in my notebook at the end of the day if I have been busy enough to not be able to write when I've wanted to. I'm always writing in some form or another, but I write best when I'm inspired, which is the second half of your question. And sometimes what inspires me will be very specific, like a song, a picture, a person, a place or a conversation, or it'll be a feeling, something fleeting like someone's smile, a childhood memory, a tune that's stuck in my head and so on. So even though I say I'm always writing, sometimes it amounts to nothing because I'm just not inspired enough, or I can't get the words right, or it feels incomplete. I'm an impulsive writer, I guess, and I depend on external factors for motivation and inspiration, but I'm trying to discipline myself.
