it takes a whiiiile for him to actually talk to silverbolt like a normal person but eventually they start having tv nights where silverbolts sitting there polite why slingshots half leaning on him arm draped on the back of the couch so its just barely touching him while they hate watch sitcoms and normal watch nature documentaries or whatever silverbolt likes.

one night slingshot slips up and goes from complaining about the tv to complaining about himself and he tries to take it back, say he was just kidding he doesnt have self esteem issues but its too late because silverbolt knows now.

theres a lot more casual touching between them (there really is between all the aerialbots but this about these two) and silverbolt tries to open up more to him in hopes that slingshot will open up in return. it takes a while and slingshot definitely still acts like a dick sometimes but he apologizes and now silverbolt knows he doesnt mean it

they start hanging out more, and slingshot does open up more, it gets to a point where they're basically already dating but wont acknowledge it when some of the cons decide to bully them for it and they finally actually have to talk about it
