-he comes home after a job and finds a nursery of baby raccoons in their guest bedroom because their mom got hit by a car
-yes he bottle feeds them until he can convince reader to let him call animal control because floppy the bunny won’t get along with them
-she cries for at least three days
-now pope has a very warped perception of love from his childhood and relationship with smurf. he suffered a lot from smurfs emotional abuse and he associates these negative feelings with sex because whenever he went into a depressive episode she would hire a escort or find someone on the beach to fuck him.
this leads to him thinking that he can fix readers feelings with sex because that’s all he knows when it comes to coping with negative feelings as drugs don’t work for him.
naturally, the only way he can think of to help r feel better is to make feel good. so imagine his surprise when she gently pushes him away after he tries to stick his hand under her polka dot panties and simply says
“i know you’re trying to help me but i just want to be sad right now.”
at first he thinks he messed up, read the room wrong. but then he realizes that sex, violence, and isolation are the only coping mechanisms he knows. his self loathing set in. you just crawl into bed and continue your wallowing.
he moves to spoon you, that’s what you do when he’s upset. then he usually fucks your brains out.
he spends the rest of the evening stroking your hair and hating himself for not knowing how to help. he doesn’t understand, you can’t take care of baby raccoons, it’s for their own good, why are you disappointed? why is this something he can’t solve with sex? he feels extremely helpless in a way he hasn’t before.
-he spends those three days keeping reader wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito and watching hello kitty until she sees laundry the raccoon and starts crying more
-he tries to get her out of the house by taking her for walks on the pier and taking her to her favorite shops, buying another ethically sourced wet kitten specimen so her other one isn’t lonely.
in time, he learns that comfort doesn’t always have to be sexual. he even grows to seek cuddles rather than intimacy to blow off steam.
