SLIDE e Alessandro Mendini si conoscono da lungo tempo ormai: insieme abbiamo creato sculture uniche poi diventate elementi d'arredo alla portata del grande pubblico, come ad esempio HERE e THERE. Oggi la partnership si rinnova con FOUR, un'escusiva scultura ispirata al tema del tempo creata nell'ambito del progetto SLIDEart. FOUR è una delle tredici opere a firma dell’artista-architetto milanese che costituiscono la mostra Arts & Crafts & Design. Il tempo secondo Alessandro Mendini e i suoi artigiani, a Ginevra fino a venerdì 25 gennaio 2013.

SLIDE and Alessandro Mendini have known each other for a long time now - together we've created unique sculptures then adapted to be furnishing items for the general public, such as HERE and THERE. Today we renew our partnership with FOUR, an exclusive sculpture inspired by the idea of time and created in the frame of the SLIDEart project. FOUR is one of the thirteen artworks designed by the Milan-born artist and architect forming the exhibition Arts & Crafts & Design. Time according to Alessandro Mendini and his artisans, on show in Geneva until this coming Friday, January 25th 2013.

La mostra è allestita nella cornice del Salone Internazionale di Alta Orologeria e intende mettere in luce i rapporti di collaborazione tra l’arte, il design e l’artigianato, evidenziando il ruolo fondamentale dei mestieri d’arte nella nostra società. Il tema del tempo è stato scelto come omaggio al mondo dell’alta orologeria, dove design, tecnica e mestiere d’arte sono strettamente legati.

The exhibition is presented during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. Its aim is to open a dialogue between design, arts and crafts, highlighting the fundamental role played by the artistic crafts within our society. Time was chosen as the exhibition theme as a tribute to high-end watchmaking, where design, technique and craftsmanship are impenetrably bound. 

FOUR è realizzata in poliuretano a media densità, lavorato e finito nel reparto laccatura di SLIDE. Il colore è una tinta iridescente verde-viola, con variazioni di tonalità in base alla direzione dei raggi luminosi e dell’angolazione da cui si osserva. 

FOUR is made of medium-density polyurethane, worked and finished in SLIDE's lacquering department. Its colour is an iridescent green-purple shade which changes according to the direction of sunrays and the observation angle.
