SLiDE was a pretty bad show, but very entertaining I must say. If you enjoy teen dramas I say why not. It's only one series and it ends on a bunch of cliff hangers and confusion - so that's the downside.
ED: He was suppose to be the main focus of the group but I didn't really understand why. I was also kind of confused when he made out with that gay guy and then he like realized he was bisexual and then it was never talked about again. Out of all the characters I thought he was least interesting which was weird since he was like the main character.
TAMMY: She was such a cliche. The overachieving virgin.. over it. I was really hoping that her and Luke could sort each other out but that story-line just became another cliche in itself and was too dramatic it made no sense.
SCARLETT: Who I thought was more interesting than any other character. I wish they didn't just blindly go over her family issues. I think she could of had some serious character development. But don't get me wrong.. she's another cliche stereotype of a girl with Daddy Issues and too much money.
EVA: I thought I was going to like Eva. But she was so lifeless and unattached it was just boring to watch. Slowly, as we got into her character the more I disliked her. Her voice was so monotone and it was just an awful portrayal of a girl who has dark secrets.
LUKE: I did not get this kid at all. His story lines were so random and sometimes he would seem so genuine and then the next second he was a complete asshole. He was inconsistent and I get what the writers were going for in this character, but it didn't convey well. Plus, telling Tammy you love her randomly at a party and then having sex with her the same night you were hooking up with another girl - GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK.
I honestly didn't get why any of these characters were friends other than they could all party together. They all treated each other like shit and didn't confide in one another that much.
Like most teen dramas that sort of rip off SKINS, they miss the point. It's all about the characters... the partying and drugs is just to lure you in. The characters is what makes people stay. When you make flat characters that are stereotypes you lose the heart of the show.
I give SLiDE 3 stars. It's fun to watch if you're super bored and have netflix.
