Ted knew he was pushing her buttons and it was obvious with the hissed snapping in whispers. She didn't like being approached about Jim and, truly, if he was a better guy-- he'd know when to stop bringing it up. But he wasn't. He was annoying, nagging, and obsessive over topics. He knew if he wasn't careful though, he'd piss her off enough to be told to leave her alone... and though that would be her right, Ted couldn't afford to lose out on more friends. He didn't have many as it was and he could tell things were strained with Paul (Matthews) because of Ted's entanglement with the barista from Beanie's. His best friend, as he referred to Paul, should be happy for Ted but... well...
Pam started on the topic of how she missed her chance, not once! But twice! It had Ted rolling his eyes a little, shaking his head and staying in his slightly bent state to stay at eye level with her, "Pam." He lifted his brows, speaking low so (again) no one would hear them should they linger near the hall or door, "Listen to me," he sighed softly, "you really think he's happy in that with her? Someone who has tried twice on you? They're not going to just give up that easily. They may try to settle, may try to ignore, may even try to present as happy-- but," he gave a small shrug of his shoulders and straightened, hand lifting to push at his hair, "But... when you want someone bad enough... that doesn't just disappear because of another set of legs."
"No, I have no fucking clue what I'm saying, but!" Ted lifts his hands only to lower all fingers beside his indexes, "I do know that when you're that into someone it doesn't matter what happens otherwise. You still want that person--" he drops his hands and lifts his shoulders in a short shrug, "Jim? I'll work him later about this, but for now I just need Pam to see she still has a shot."
