Roxie was definitely in labor, and the twins arrived, right on time at 39 weeks. Date of Birth was September 3rd, making them Virgos. The little girl was born first.

Logan Roxanne Schrieber  6 lbs. 3 oz. Jonas Michael Schrieber 5 lbs. 14 oz.

As Roxie foreseen, Logan was the wild one, Jonas had a much softer disposition. Neither had any complications and came home after only four days hospitalization.

MARK- “She just needs more to eat than Jonas, look at her. take to this bottle.”

SETH- “Here, take Jonas, let me finish feeding her and maybe get her to sleep.

MARK- “Look, Seth, Jonas is asleep already.”

SETH- “Not her, she is wide awake.”

MARK- “Maybe she don’t like your singing...”

SETH- “Excuse me? She is awake because she loves hearing my singing, thank you ever so much!”

MARK- “Okay, but regardless you need to stop singing, so she goes to sleep and so that Jonas doesn’t wake up!!”

Three weeks after their birth, Roxie had to leave to go out on tour again, and Jackson left for Foxbury, Seth and Mark now had to tend to them by themselves. After a few weeks of trying to care for their children alone, they realized they were going to need assistance. A lot of it.

“Pick a Nanny”

Mark & Seth have a tough choice to make. Both Ingrid and Peter are qualified and both seem like a good fit for the family. Their background checks and references are all good so there is only one thing to do. PICK ONE!!

MARK- “Well, I think that is all, Peter. Again thank you for coming back for this 2nd interview.”

PETER- “I was delighted when you called me and wanted to see me again! I really feel attached to Logan and Jonas already after just seeing them. I also do think that the three of us have a connection, which is important as well. And to be honest, the question regarding my sexuality was fine. I mean you are opening your home to me, if I am brought on.  You do need to know those things. So, I look forward to your next call!”

SETH- “Thanks Peter.  It was nice to talk to you again. And yes, I do think the three of us have a lot in common, same interests, and close to the same age. Which would also be an advantage to the kids. Someone generationally the same as their parents.

PETER- “Yes, that is a point I actually didn’t think of until today. So I will wait for your call.”

MARK- “Yes, Again, thanks.

PETER- “Bye now....”

SETH- (under his breath) “I hope you are happy now. That was so embarrassing. What difference does it make if he was gay or not, Mark?”

MARK- “I just wanted to know. I mean I wouldn’t want him bringing strange guys in here at all hours of the night.”

SETH- “Yeah, right.  I am sure that was not the reason you wanted to know. He is extremely attractive. I know exactly why you wanted to know!!”

MARK- “Seriously Seth? I have all the man I need, are you actually being jealous?”

SETH- “Maybe, like I said he is VERY good-looking”

MARK- “Fine, you were right. I wanted to know, well just to know. And I didn’t think jealousy was in your blood.”

SETH- “It’s not, but apparently honesty isn’t in yours....”

MARK- “And who acted like they were jealous when they aren’t? But it is of no matter, not only is he not gay, he is not even sexual, so there is that.”

Generation One ~ Episode 8

AND BABY MAKES FOUR

THIRTY SIX WEEKS LATER

MARK- “Look at our babies, Seth, they are getting so big.  In just a few more weeks we will be able to hold them.”

SETH- “Mark, honey, Roxie looks tired and she needs to get back into bed. Come on, let’s let her rest.”

ROXIE- “It’s okay Seth, I am feeling------

ROXIE- “OH Holy mother of Watcher... ah...fuck what is wrong....!!!???”

SETH- “Roxie? Are you okay??”

ROXIE- “Holy...Oh, sheesh it’s subsiding... wow that was painful. Not sure if that was your son, or if it was your daughter, but someone was not happy.”

MARK- “Sis, are you okay? Should we call Dr. Rouse?”

ROXIE- “I am fine, now. I think it just may have been gas, or one of your kids just kicked really hard. Probably your daughter, I would say she is going to be the one that gives you two hell. The little boy will be an angel.”

MARK- “It’s okay, Roxie, we can take you to the hospital, the doctor said that we are past the crucial point, that they can come now any time.”

SETH- “Mr. Lowenthal, thank you so much for coming back.”

PETER- “Please, just call me Peter, I mean if I am going to be the kids nanny, I would prefer to be on a first name basis...if that is alright?”

MARK- “Of course it is alright, Peter. So you got your bachelor’s degree from Britechester?”

PETER- “Yes, and I am working on my Masters there as well. I want to be a psychologist, ironic, huh? I honestly had no idea that you were Mark.”

SETH- “You two will have a lot to talk about then. So are you wanting to work primarily with children once you get your Master’s or are you going for your Doctorate as well.”

PETER- “Doctorate, yes, You really have no chance to get anywhere in the psychology field without it.”

MARK- “So true, I plan on going back once the kids are in school.”

SETH- “Hmmm, really? So Peter I am sure we told you this before, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay with this, but you would live here and be on call 24 hours. Of course you would have two days off each week, and personal time every day.”

INGRID- “And you know, I just love children. They are so pure and innocent. All you need to do is give them attention and love and that will make them happier than anything. That is the problem. Parents don’t have time for their kids. They are too busy thinking of themselves. Kids don’t want things, they want their parents!”

MARK- “Well, thank you again for coming back. We hope to make a decision by the end of the week.”

INGRID- “Like I said, I can start immediately. I do not have a lot of things, I can just throw them in my truck and be here ready to move in and start as soon as you need me!”

SETH- “Thanks Ms. Braun. We will be in contact.”

INGRID- “Whatever you decide boys is fine with me. Regardless if it is me or another fine Nanny, I know those two will be well taken care of.”

MARK- “Thank you again. I will see you out.”

INGRID- “Not necessary Sweetie, will talk to you soon.”

MARK- “Sweetie, sweetie sweetie.... If she said it one more time, I was going to lose it! She loves using that word...but honestly, I feel a little better about her after this interview.  I am glad we called her back.”

SETH- “So what time is the young man supposed to be here?”

MARK- “At four. We have time to feed the babies, change them and then we can eat and put them down for a nap. Maybe even catch a little lovie dovie.  What do you say Sweetie??”

Mark and Seth interviewed about 16 Nannies, all shapes sizes, colors and genders and they finally settled on two. The first one was a middle aged woman, Ingrid Braun. She had experience and was a former school teacher in the neighboring town of Windenburg and was looking to relocate here in Brindleton. The other was a young man, about Mark and Seth’s age. His name was Peter Lowenthal. He too had experience, however not as much as Ms. Braun, and he also had recently moved to the area from Willow Creek. Mark liked Peter and Seth was leaning more toward Ingrid, so they decided to bring them both back in for a second interview.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE INTERVIEWS

Over in Del Sol Valley, Roxie is on a small weekend hiatus from the tour and decided to call her brother and favorite babies, just to check on them all of course....

ROXIE- “The tour is great! I have this weekend to relax then I start back Sunday night on the road. Hitting seven stops in seven days!  You believe that? Then another day off before I fly to Cali for a two day gig.”

MARK- “So when you going to stop by and see us?”

ROXIE- “I thought after the California trip. I have four days off and it would be perfect, I could stop there on my way back home.”

MARK- “Oh, by the way, I think we settled on a Nanny for the twins. I really think you are going to love them.”

ROXIE- “Honey, I told you, it doesn’t matter what I think, okay. Logan and Jonas are you and Seth’s children. I know you guys will make all the right choices. I am not mommy material, now Auntie material?  I got that!  So I will see you in about a week and a half, okay!?”
