she steps into my head most every night moving like she’s the queen i wanna sleep into the daylight i’ve been waking up all hungry like it’s like i’ve never been touched before- am i in touch with the other side?  i’m not sure, no. 

I thought I was awake But I was just sleepwalkin’ Movin’ through my days Like my soul was never talkin’ Eyes wide open But the lights were never on Now I’m standin’ in the brightness Realizin’ I was gone

I used to drift through hours Like the world was out of phase Every step was automatic Every thought was just a haze I was livin’ in the background Of a life I didn’t feel Breathin’ but not present Numbed out to what was real

Then a spark hit quiet Like a neon in the dark Just a hum inside my chest But it lit a little part Didn’t know it was the moment Didn’t know it was the start Of wakin’ up inside myself And re-enterin’ my heart

Now I’m awake for real Not perfect, but alive Life still hits heavy But at least I’m in the fight I feel the hurt clean But it don’t take me for a ride I feel the joy brighter ’Cause I’m finally in my life

I’ve been analyzin’ everything My thoughts, my fears, my past Some of it still stings But the meaning hits back Every time I face the shadows I see more of what I lacked And every time I face the pain The good parts hit with impact

I’m not driftin’ anymore I’m not movin’ without me I’m not watchin’ from a distance Like a ghost behind a screen I’m awake in my decisions In my body, in my dreams I’m alive inside the moments That I used to never see

I thought I was awake But I was just sleepwalkin’ Now I’m livin’ in the present Every heartbeat, every caution Life ain’t perfect But it’s mine and I’m involved in Every breath I take now Feels like I’m evolvin’
