It is RARE now, that the former King ever makes appearances in Polis ( he’d rather Trikru think him still being alive is a MYTH ). when it comes to physical pain, harper deals with it in the best way she can. by not telling anyone about it. she gauges her pain on an INTERESTING scale. it’s the simple one to ten, but she refuses to use her ten until it’s absolutely necessary. after mt. weather, she told everyone her pain was a four on the scale, when in truth it was about a six. bone pain is some of the worst pain, and the workers at mt. weather didn’t care enough to fix her up PROPERLY (mostly because of their intent to kill her), so her wounds became infected fairly quickly.
she’s used to pain now. her hip is often throbbing, even after the wound finally healed. harper writes it off as phantom pains, telling herself that it’s all in her head (to admit that it’s anything else makes it REAL. she doesn’t like that.) so that it makes it easier for her to deal with. for the most part, she just grinds through it. sometimes she drinks. sometimes she smokes -- takes the edge off of everything. harper is VERY good at distracting herself from the pain.
