Let’s go, S-Rank on Skyscraper Scamper
I’m playing through Sonic Unleashed and at this point I have beat Eggmanland and the Egg Dragoon, I’m just not quite ready to finish the game yet so I’m replaying through some of my favorite levels. Skyscraper Scamper Day Act 1 is definitely one of my favorites! I really like the big city vibe, the level design is really cool and the music is fantastic (especially the sax)! It’s a super energetic stage and I always have a blast playing through it. I recently beat my time record as well! I’ll try and beat Sonic Unleashed sometime this weekend!

Hey guys! It's been a while hasn't it? Well, let's start things off with another song from the Modern era!
Skyscraper Scamper - Day from Sonic Unleashed! Enjoy~
It's Saturday, and this is for all you babes of jazz out there; a heaping dosage of saucy swing!
More werehog stages, you have no idea how much werehog music gets me off, it's all so jazzy and great. First of all, this swings like mad, complete with the ride, the walking bass, and the comping in the guitar and piano. The whole song really builds up, from snapping in the percussion, to snare hits on two and four near the end of the loop. The muted trumpet is a very classy touch as well, and so is the flute. Actually, I take it back, it's actually pic; I just played along and it has the right timbre, as well as it fits the style of traditional jazz to go along with the string section (I'm in Chicago the musical, and there is only pic parts instead of flute parts, along with the other reeds).Â
The trumpet solo is classy, the pic falls, the vibes imitating the melody, and the whole mix of it is really pleasing. I like how when it changes to a tom heavy rhythm, the guitar takes over the main comping, while when there's light swing, it's piano comping. It's awesome contrast! During the pic solo, the bass gets downright funky, going into a slap rhythm before going back to walking after the first chorus.
So, go prowl the streets of Empire City at night folks, sneak into your speakeasies and rile up the town!
