I saw an ancient piece of fanart or something and my heart burst for no reason??
He's had a hard life. He's that weird quiet kid with glasses who obsesses over bugs; but inside he's this delicate little flower who lost his brother. That made him grow up and it's sad, really - Taimi says she knew him in college so I suspect they're the same age - like you'd THINK he and Blish are older but really - really they're all just kids and it's sad. And Taimi kinda grew up quick because she hung around the Commander, but Gorrik just wanted to study bugs and Blish just wanted to hang out with his little brother and then - we come along and they get swept up in this maelstrom of 'life around the Commander' and then Blish dies and Gorrik's going 'wait wait when did I sign up for this' and now he's had to grow up himself - and we have him doing asura sciency things to help us fight Kralkatorrik and he doesn't have any bugs after Joko, after Blish, and so it's like - skyscales! not bugs exactly but - !
And like to put a comparison on Gorrik's mental age anymore, you even see him and Almorra bonding in Dragonfall?! There's this dialogue where Gorrik is estimating the odds of actually killing Kralkatorrik, and Almorra just growls and says "i don't care about the odds, I want that dragon dead" and Gorrik is like "I absolutely one hundred percent agree with you." And Almorra's this ancient charr warrior and Gorrik's this little asura kid but they're both - a;dkljalkdfj
And so it's just - let's have a little love for Gorrik. He kinda needs it.
Please tell me that the “saving Skyscales” part of the Skyscale achievement progress is the hardest part.
