The preshow for the Skyborne drop tower at Lost Island Theme Park.
Skyborne is presented as a Udaran research facility and library where they’ve been experimenting with a floating metal they hope to use in their new flying machines and floating city. First Librarian Duwi is eager to welcome willing test subjects and hoping that this time for sure, they can actually sustain levitation for longer then a few seconds.
So I have been studying life around the Baltic sea for some comic development. There’s some nautical-themed stuff, so I though, “Mermay sounds like a fun excuse to look up what lives in the Baltic sea and make sea friends from those critters!”
Can you believe that these are all (except the seastar) done with the same 8 markers I carry around in my compact bag, because I’m lazy/challenging myself? (Also I have refills or these, so makes sense to draw more with them)

Aura
Aura is a Harpy (part elf/part owlbeast) born into a family of adventurers. She sees herself as a magical prodigy, and, to her credit, is incredibly strong in her light magic. Though, she is a bit of a shut in, preferring to stick her nose in her books than actually study. She has a know-it-all attitude and tends to be lazy, and would rather do something quick than do something right, usually by making her problems explode. Despite her attitude, she's also incredibly loyal to her friends, no matter how aloof she tries to be.

Gregoria, the shooting star
A mysterious beast girl of unknown species and origin, Gregoria has no memory of who she was before being put in stasis. Covered in stars, she seeks out her sister with her trusty sword in hand as she explores this new strange world, discovering and rediscovering all there is to see as she tries to regain her memories.

Berry was the first person Gregoria met, sleeping in her own cryostasis chamber in a dilapidated tower Gregoria took refuge in. The two became each other's rocks, able to relate on the loss of their memories and developing a very close bond. Incredibly sweet and peppy, Berry loves anything she deems cute, though her idea of "cute" can be very different from the average. She has the tendency to adore anything she meets, which becomes a problem in battle. Even still, shes very skilled with her hammer, easily able to knock out any baddies as long as she doesn't get distracted.
