hey layla, how do you keep the energy up to write multiple fic at a time? i keep burning myself out, and i'd really love to continue fics that i know people enjoy reading!!
Ohhh, my friend. You are asking the million dollar question. To be completely honest, this is something I struggle with a lot (and based off those I interact with, it seems most other writers do as well). Writing a single fic can take a lot of energy, and when you start writing multiple stories it can be pretty draining. You’re basically creating these stories with worlds, characters, plots, and different conflicts - so it’s quite a bit to formulate and keep track of.Not to say, it’s not possible. I’ve gone through spurts of doing things like RPing, working on a long fic, plus busting out little ficlets here and there. It’s not always possible (which I’ll get into in a bit), but I can tell you some things that helped me when juggling that much writing.First, you have to take care of yourself. I know my health played a big role in me being able to write that much (I was diagnosed with hypokalemia a few months back, and was also deficient on some vitamins). After I got that addressed and started taking vitamins and doing things like trying to drink more water and eat a little better that definitely helped clear my mind. I’m not saying totally change your lifestyle (I mean, we all have different situations and things going on, you know?), but definitely pay attention to the needs of your mind and body.It also helps to be in a routine. I know I’ve struggled with writing these past few months since I’ve been moving and in-between jobs, but ever since I’ve gotten a place and started working my schedule has made it easier to set aside times to write. Even if it’s not a lot, setting aside time intervals to focus on writing or even getting inspired can really be beneficial to kicking up that writing drive. Also, think about what makes you passionate about these stories your writing - what is it you’re dying to share to people? Is there a specific scene or plot point you desperately want to get to? I know that sometimes if I really want to get to a certain scene, I’ll specifically wait to write it until I get through everything else. So that can be good motivation. All of these are things I do when trying to write (both single and multiple fics). But, I’m going back to that first point of listening to your body. It’s doable to get into a pattern of writing multiple stories, but depending on the length of them it can be pretty demanding. So, don’t be afraid to stop with something and leave it for a bit. It’s totally cool and normal to take a break on one thing if you feel more inspired with something else, and it’s cool to take a break from everything when you’re mind needs it (which, if you’re getting burnt out a lot you definitely may, and that’s okay!). That doesn’t mean you’re stopping forever - it just means you may need a bit of a recharge before kicking up that writing again. I know it can be easy to put yourself under a little pressure with writing - especially when you want to write pics you know others are enjoying. But you have to remember you’re one person, and you have a life and other things that may come up! Your readers will understand this, and while it’s nice to write for others never forget how important it is to write for yourself.I know this got kind of long and rambly, but hopefully it helped a little. XD Let me know if you have any other questions!
And in this edition of connor/sky reacts..... i remember to post this for once instead of forgetting like i have the last few times. Also BHNA!
hes planning on watching it so i tried to avoid spoilers, and also picked the main characters + some faves of mine (and also mineta bc i was curious as to his first impression to the grape rat baby). italics are me, and if its hard to tell everyones reaction is to one side of their images.
