where thou art, that is home, sterek
Stiles is ten when he saves the Hales from their burning home and Derek from a wolfsbane bullet, and this establishes a pattern that seem to continue indefinitely.
"Then he's facing a burning home, and he wraps the hood of his sweatshirt around his mouth before he pushes the door open and steps inside. There's Mr. Hale asleep - he hopes asleep - on the couch, next to - Stiles thinks that's his brother but there are so many Hales, who can keep track. He rushes over and starts shaking him, can see the rise and fall of the man's chest so he knows he's alive, but he's not waking up.
He shoves away his hood so he can shout, "Mr. Hale! You have to get up, there's a fire! Mr. Hale, get up!" Nothing, he's not even twitching, both of them taking in deep even breaths like they're having the most peaceful of rests, and Stiles is going to cry. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!"
There's a moment, where all Stiles can hear is the blood rushing in his ears and not the roar of the flames or the creak of wood, then with a violent, silent pop it's all back and both of the men are gasping awake, eyes open and jumping to their feet. "
run ‘verse, darcy is tony’s daughter, (minor darcy/bucky)
Darcy's not quite sure what she'll do with another dad.
yesterday’s feelings, cake
Calum Hood, 29, sits down to write his vows for his upcoming wedding. Inspiration is hard to find, and a (not so) subtle suggestion from his best friend, Michael Clifford, opens a door to his past he realizes he never really shut.
Calum is engaged to be married, but the sudden reappearance of his ex puts everything into question.
two creams, one sugar, max/furiosa
A coffee shop AU. Except more complicated. A small town setting, Furiosa is the local mechanic, too much a black sheep in town to be having the easiest time of it. Max is working the local coffee shop, for something to do and a soft place to land while he recovers from raging PTSD incurred during his police work, and Citadel, Australia, is about as small and sleepy a place as it's possible to get, right? The Wives are the residents of a rather discretely run home for abused women that Furiosa supers for when she isn't in her shop. The lesbian separatist feminist motorcycle gang is literally just that.
This is a love story, hinged around a missing person, a suspected homicide, a broken carburetor, and a mutual disdain for pretentious coffee.
our little corner of the world, nux/capable
Diner AU. Capable is a waitress in a small town diner and Nux is part of the local biker gang, and they take turns rescuing one another and falling in love. Also there's pie.
pilgrim, inception/mad max crossover
It was growing dark out over Gas Town when Max came upon the neat white lettering painted on a sheet of dented metal, nailed to the wall of the shell of an old bus, its once yellow paint long peeled mostly away to a dull chrome, its wheels and engine all shucked, listing on the packed dirt.
If you can read this, declared the sign in narrow lettering, Trade us a secret for a free meal.
Max studied the sign for a moment more, frowning. His gut clenched: he hadn’t eaten since the late morning, just a quick bite of rations on his way from the Citadel to Gas Town, carefully portioning out his tiny supplies. Still, if wandering the Big Nothing had taught Max anything, it was that anything that was too good to be true in the world was not only a lie, it was also usually downright fucking vicious.
wrapped around your wrist, cake
Luke's not expecting it when his Timer goes off. He's expecting it to go off that day but not at that time. Not surrounded by his students.
Calum, however, is expecting his Timer to go off in class. He's a college freshman. Everyone's Timers go off during their first few weeks of freshman year. It's normal. Almost boring. Usual.
Or; Luke is a college professor. Calum is his student. They're soul mates.
we’re not fine at all, cake
Luke doesn't know the guy in the super market. Luke doesn't recognize the voice on his voicemail. Luke's never had a boyfriend before. Those are all facts to Luke. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things Luke doesn't know about himself.
Or, Luke woke up with amnesia and forgot about all of Calum's stupid little things.
take a sad song and make it better, drarry
The last thing Harry wants is to lose his kids.
AKA the greater new york PTSD support group, sam/bucky/steve
They’ve successfully completed what might be the most dangerous mission in history: the recovery of the Winter Soldier.
Now comes the recovery of Bucky Barnes, which is turning out to be even more difficult.
A story about Bucky coming back to the surface with the help of Steve, Sam, pancakes, video games, the city of New York, assorted Avengers, and beds that--really, let's be honest here--are too soft to sleep on.
Crisp, thin air. The rough scrape of blades on ice. The jumbled, unintelligible echo of male voices, ringing off the rafters and bouncing through the empty seats. The familiar smell, sweaty equipment and rubber flooring and Zamboni fluid. Luke’s taken to closing his eyes sometimes, cutting off his primary sense, and just absorbing the noise and the scent and the feel of cool air on his cheeks. That way, regardless of where he is, an arena still feels like home.
Or, an AU in which Luke is a small-town hockey superstar who gets drafted to the Montreal Canadiens, Ashton is the bubbly team Captain, Calum is a defenceman with a bad habit of settling on-ice conflicts with his fists, and Michael is the NHL's first openly gay player.
wear your heart on your skin, stucky
Wherein Steve Rogers is a scrawny tattoo artist with more health issues than common sense, looking for someone to replace the piercist who just disappeared (Darcy swears it was alien abduction, Steve insists the guy just got thrown in jail) before his shop loses too much money and James "Bucky" Barnes is an Iraq war veteran coping with a metal arm and the combination of diagnosed PTSD and TBI trying to reengage with the world by filling the position left by the piercist in question.
After all, nothing could go wrong with this plan, right?
Max thought he'd never want to see the Citadel again. And yet here he is and he isn't sure why. Furiosa greets him like this was always the plan, like he is one of her scouts. She looks strong and healthy again, recovered from her wound. Perhaps that is what he came to see?
He tells himself: 'One day. Supplies and water and food'. And then 'Maybe a night rest'.
Three days later he drives away, determined not to return.
(Three months later the Citadel comes into sight again)
against the run of play, lashton
luke hemmings no. 16 has just come out in a press conference. nothing changes, it still feels like lying, only now everybody knows he's a liar.
ashton irwin no. 7 has just been transferred to another club, but the other players still don't trust him. nothing changes, except for his increasingly worse reputation.
nothing fucking changes. nothing ever does.
except this season, except for these next few games, except when they're together. then everything changes.
drugverse (oil & water + second go), malum (I infinitely prefer second go, but you need to read oil & water, both are excellent fic tho oil & water made me BAWL)
Calum’s heart sinks a little bit, and he's not entirely sure why. Maybe it's because he's allowed himself to fall victim to Michael's seduction yet again, or maybe it's because he's disappointed in himself for being so willing to try something that could so easily be dangerous. Or maybe, the most likely of all, it's because he can hear Mali's voice in his head telling him how stupid he's been to have found himself—quite literally—backed against the wall like this, with a boy he barely knows whispering dirty promises into his ear when he doesn't even know the first thing about real relationships.
Or, Calum spends a night with the boy that smells like smoke, and as it always is with bad addictions, he keeps getting sucked right back in.
the length and breadth of fury road, slow burn max/furiosa
Max leaves, and Furiosa stays.
He has to admit that the wolf is beautiful, thick tawny fur and strong limbs. There's a certain intelligence and awareness in its eyes, like there's more to it than Luke knows. It's bigger than any of the other wolves sighted, in a way that Luke probably only comes up to just below its chest, though it doesn't mean much considering how small Luke is.
The thing that strikes him, though, is the familiar, gorgeous hazel eyes. He swears he's seen them before, and not in the wolf's face staring back at him.
giant wolves have been seen all over sydney, and maybe ashton is keeping a secret.
Ashton’s bandmates are petting each other onstage again which is fine, it’s normal.
blame it on the boys, malum
“Promise me one thing. We’ll never turn into this lame suburban couple who has sex twice a month and avoids each other like the plague. Please?”
“That’ll never happen because you have the sex drive of a horny teenager,” answers Calum.
or, in which there's PTA meetings, football games, and jealousy.
Stepping over the collapsed door is a boy, must be around his age, got that bright spark in his blue eyes that spits outraged and unaffected seventeen with the broad shoulders and gloved hands of someone who’s lived far too much for his age. Michael looks at him and then he squints so the image comes into focus, even if it hurts his head to do so. He’s got something in his hands, and there’s fire coming from it. It’s a blow-torch.
or: michael's only half-good, in a world where you're either good or bad.
This is good, good for Ashton. He works so hard, always taking care of the boys, he deserves someone who will take his mind off of things, even for a couple of hours to get coffee. Maybe it’ll make him better, and by extension, the band better. Maybe Bryana is a good thing for everyone. Yet, even now, as Calum tries to think of how great Bryana could be for Ashton, he can’t help but think that he would be so much better.
Or the one where Calum and Ashton have been Friends With Benefits for years, and Calum thought his feelings for Ashton were simply sexual until Bryana came into the picture.
this kind of luxe, sterek
As they have for almost every US President since the 1910s, the Prime Minister and the royal head of their country pay a visit to the United States after inauguration. Which is why, when President Jonathan Stilinski is elected into office, Queen Talia Hale of Norland plans their trip.
Prince Derek and First Son Stiles. Gooey, ridiculous romance ensues.
dying to see how this one ends, halsey/taylor
“I can make the bad guys good for a weekend.”
Of course Ashley’s heard the song, every time biting back a smile at Taylor’s cheeky intonation of ‘good for a weekend’. She’s got no doubt that it’s true, too – the song may be a parody of the media image of Swift, but the fact remains that Taylor is very powerful.
She just doesn’t know if she’s powerful enough that the line applies to bad girls as well.

“I think Bond’s trying to be your friend,” Eve tells him.
“…well,” Q says slowly, “this is a new and disturbing development.”
On the third day, Nux makes his way to the Citadel, carrying the War Rig’s replacement steering wheel in his hands.
In which Mikey is a witch who gets a nudge from The Goddess herself, Calum is a gancanagh who shamelessly uses his Charms, Luke is a cuddly vampire who’s always too cold, and Ashton is a werewolf who just wishes his ragtag pack of misfit supernatural beings would stop stumbling into magical trouble.
that which you cannot undo, Teen Wolf; Sterek
By twenty-eight, Stiles has resigned himself to a quiet life of working in his magic shop, selling Jackson Whittemore fart-inducing tea, and looking after his goddaughter. It's a good life. But the quiet goes to hell when his sister, Lydia, shows up with a crispy werewolf in her trunk and a bite mark on her shoulder, because hard on her heels comes the hottest person Stiles has ever seen, and he happens to be looking for his uncle.
You know, the dead guy Stiles helped Lydia bury last night.
(Or: the Pracitical Magic AU nobody asked for.)
we’re a storm in somebody else’s teacup; Merlin,
In which Merlin and Morgana meet at a support group for people with superpowers, and accidentally start a chain of events that nearly destroys the world.
words dancing on the tip of my tongue; Lashton
“I thought I was ready,” Luke confessed.
Ashton shot him a sad smile, “I think I wanted to believe you were.”
Or Luke has been dating Ashton for 6 months and convinced himself that in order to compensate for his lack of sexual experience sleeping with Ashton is the way to go. If only he’d thought twice about the consequences.
presque vu, Inception (Gen)
Or, "on the tip of the tongue." Arthur meets Mal first. He inherits Dom, after. Everything else is on him.
