The mom situation in KinnPorsche reminded me of something, and at first I didn't remember what, but then I realized it was the old Swedish YA book "...och de vita skuggorna i skogen" by Maria Gripe. In which a mother attempts to commit suicide, fails, and proceeds to "haunt" the castle where her children live, aided by an old friend who covers her tracks and sets her up to stay in secret rooms. (She also has another child illegitimately, who meets the other kids as their servant/companion without knowing they're related, and uh... yeah... when Korn said "sister" I fully expected the show to Go There.)
And this is interesting, because I don't think Maria Gripe was ever translated to Thai. (She's huge in Spain, though.) The Shadow trilogy of books that this belongs to are, however, completely marinated in old literature. You get Wilde, Strindberg, Barrett-Browning, Schiller, Elin Wägner, and more. So what is the story that provides the base for both?

I'm going to London so this is the last you'll see from me in a while. This is another attempt to draw Rosilda, seen here with her brother Arild. I've been wanting to draw this scene from "...and the white shadows in the forest" for a long time, the main character Berta and her sister watches Rosilda with her long hair out and flowers all around her.Â
I have a lot of feelings about these books.Â
I made an illustration of my impression of Arild and Rosilda from the book "...and the white shadows in the forest" (My translation) by Maria Gripe. They are twins and they live isolated in a big castle full of tradgedy and secrets... It's one of my favourite books, I have loved it since I was a child and I still find new things about it even now. It's one of those books that I reread once in a while just to be able to experience the feelings again.
