1. Beginning
I have a bunch of last line tags to answer ânâ all, which I will get to once Iâm not about to watch stuff with my friend before work, but in the meantime
 Have a writing?
These have been going up on my patreon since... March...?
Iâll throw up a post with the links separately, âcause thereâs another series just starting there (I think yesterday actually) that I can announce
Or something
 ANYWAYS
this is from a list of prompts I took from DA back in... I dunno, I think I was still in uni so like. a couple of years now, and Iâm still working through them now
this one is the beginning of the Magic Thieves, so @unfortunatelyunfocused, it may interest you?
I have very informal taglists starting up so if anything I write seems like your deal, lemme know and Iâll add you to âem ;)

âHe canât keep us here forever.â
Skren looked up to see Elise pacing, again.
âHe didnât have to take us in! We owe him nothing!â
âWeâve eaten quite a lot of his food,â Skren remarked.
âAgain, he didnât have to give us that.â Elise shot him a look that was almost a glare as she tested the strange locks on the windows.
Strange locks. As if anything in this world wasnât strange.
âBalshat!â Elise yanked her hand back, hissing.
The handles were glowing red.
Skren frowned, hearing an almost familiar chime in the world.
âDamn things are â are cursed or something.â Elise turned away, heading for the pitcher of water that had come with their meal that morning.
Skren hopped down and made his cautious way across the thickly carpeted floor to the window.
The locks werenât like anything heâd seen before, certainly not from home. But that didnât really matter.
âHello,â he murmured. âWhat are you doing all the way up here?â
Theyâd been ignored, they whispered back. The mage had set them there and left them. âŻThey werenât allowed to open,âŻever,âŻalthough the mist at night tried very hard to get in around the edges. They were worried they might never be able to get open again.
They talked differently, too, but the meaning got across.
âWhat are you doing?â Elise came back, a cloth held tight between her hands.
Skren held out a hand to the locks.
âDonât touch it!â
âThey wonât hurt me,â he replied, placing his hand on them. âCome on now. Whatâs a little breath between friends?â
The locks chattered against his palm, and it was a wonder the girl couldnât understand â or even hear â them.
It was a long way to the ground.
âWeâll need a rope or something.â
âOn it.â Elise ran to their elaborate beds â ridiculously soft, after what theyâd been sleeping on â and pulled the sheets free, tying them together. âBut if we canât â oh!â
Skren swung the windows open and hopped up to balance on the windowsill, looking out over the winding streets below. For all the buildings, there werenât many people out. That was good.
âHere.â Elise pushed the end of the makeshift rope under his arm. âI donât know how long itâll hold.â
âYouâve done this before,â Skren remarked, playing it down.
âA few times.â Elise grinned.
Skren nodded, whispering to the knots, convincing them to hold fast. They werenât technically locks, but they held things shut.
And they were eager to be of service.
âYou first.â He shifted to let her past.
âWhyâŚ?â She glanced at his hooves. âI donât really want you landing on me. If you canât grip.â
Skren laughed. âI wonât fall.â
âBecause neither of you are going anywhere.â
They both jumped, and Skren caught at the nearest window to prevent overbalancing out.
âWhat are you doing?â There was the mage, the master of the castle.
âLeaving.â Elise jutted her jaw. âSince you arenât telling us anything!â
âThis is â how did you open the locks? I placed them there myself!â
âThey werenât very good then, were they?â Elise jeered. âIf people like us can get past them.â
âYou.â He ignored Elise, glowering at Skren. âWhat kind of halfer magic do you have?â
âHalfer⌠magic?â Skren frowned.
âDemon bonded!â He gestured at Skren. âWhich you obviously are.â He frowned. âIâve never heard of one that wasnât destructive.â
âI understand doorways.â Skren shrugged. âThereâs not more to it than that.â
âDoorways⌠come with me.â
âWhat?â Elise scowled. âWhy?â
âWell, you donât have to,â he replied. âBut I would like to talk with the demon bonded.â
Skren hopped down from his perch, leaving the windows hanging open. He touched Eliseâs arm before she could retort, shaking his head. âCome on.â
âHold up.â Elise folded her arms. âWhatâs your name? What do you want?â
âMy name is SkĂr. And I⌠have an idea you may be able to help me with.â

I made this skirt in an almost silky smooth knit, with a generous percentage of lycra to add both lift and shine.

-Lauka and -Skir honorifics
If youâre familiar with basic Japanese, the use of "-laukaâ is similar to â-sanâ. Its English equivalent might be âMister.â (Thatâs Mister Ganon to you.) -skir is a special honorific in EhenĂv, from the term samkĂr, or female hero (but only one of great courage). The male term for the hero of courage is, of course, rink. If Ganon was simply speaking to Linke as a younger female he would call her Linke-ma, but he acknowledges her bravery by calling her Linke-skir. Va Devlan refers to Ganondorf as Ganon-mak, similar to -bo in Japanese (used for little boys). Ganon-mak is something like âLittle Ganon.â For more EhenĂv visit gerudoshikyapril.
