I’m trying to help a friend watch the last seasons of West Wing, which episodes of season 5 and 6 are a ‘must watch’ aka really good episodes to recommend?
For me, I liked The Supremes in season 5.
I normally just skip to season 7 (which was a season I loved post-Sorkin).

Before I cap off The Deadly Assassin...
Let me elaborate on my last answer to dimensionsintime. I've talked about my "skip 1 serial per season" rule a few times on this blog. It's more like a guideline or recommendation than a rule. I've already broken it several times before such as for Season 10, 11 and 12 where I've watched every serial in those seasons. I really haven't skipped all that much. I only skip just to save time and get me closer to more variety (more Doctors, more companions, different styles, etc). I've already accepted the fact that I probably won't finish this all before the 50th so I'm open to breaking that rule for a season if the demand is there for that specific season.
My skip list (besides the First and Second Doctors entire era's which I intend to go back to) as amounted to:
The Ambassadors of Death
Colony in Space
The Mutants
Planet of Evil
Masque of Mandragora
Really that isn't much. That's only 5 out of 28 serials between Spearhead from Space and The Deadly Assassin.
I also have a tentative skip list for the future that may change based on viewer reccomendation
Season 15: Either The Invisible Enemy or Underworld
Season 16 Not skipping since apparently it's part of a season wide story arc
Season 17: Nightmare of Eden probably (or creature from the pit depending on viewer recommendation)
Season 18: I've been instructed not to skip but if I have to I'll probably skip Meglos
Season 19: When I get here I'll ask for public opinion
Season 20: Same as Season 19
Season 21: Either Warriors of the Deep or The Awakening
Season 22: Probably Timelash?
Season 23: Obviously not skipping any of it since it's a pretty major story arc
Season 24: Probably Delta and the Bannerman (i've been told Time in the Rani is "so bad it's good" teritory and I love those kind of things ((better get my booze ready for that one)))
Season 25: I'll ask when I get there
Season 26: Probably won't skip anything here
TV Movie: I WILL NOT SKIP THIS!!!
Seriously that's only like 8-10 skips at most. And this list is tentative and might change so who knows. If I get enough requests for something I missed I'll do it.
