It was a couple days after Baekhyunâs slight breakdown on the phone to Yewon and he had decided to keep going forward with his plans. He wouldnât give up on his dreams, he just couldnât give up after heâd come so far as to disobey his parents, and move away from their judgmental view of his dream. He wanted to be a singer. Singing was what he did best, fashion was only a hobby to him and everyone who knew him well, knew that.Â
He stopped in the middle of the busiest intersection, where street performances were known to take place and for once he praised himself for being early. He set down his case, opening it up and taking out his keyboard. He took a few minutes to set it up and then he took out the microphone stand and microphone setting it in front of the keyboard. It was cold outside, roughly, 27 - 30 degrees, but it wasnât the first time he had done this in the cold weather.Â
Baekhyun looked around at the streets, watching the people pass him by and he unconsciously smiled to himself. He was determined to make every single one of them stop and watch until he was done performing. He closed his keyboard case up and then sat on it, using it as a chair. He took a few moments to warm up, playing scales on the keyboard before he adjusted the mic to be positioned in front of his mouth, singing a couple lines. (x) (x) (x)
Just the sound of his voice made people stop and turn, eyes on him and thatâs what he enjoyed. Thatâs what he lived for. As soon as he had a big enough crowd he stood up, taking the mic in his hands after bowing. âHello everyone! Iâm Baekhyun and Iâd love to play a couple of songs for you guys! I know itâs cold out here but would you spare me a few minutes of your time?~â He says happily as he looks around at the faces in the crowd, grinning when they clap and cheer as an answer to his question. âThank you~âÂ
He sat back down and then proceeded to play a song that never failed to bring the emotion out of him. It was practically habit that he always sang this particular song first every time he sang live in front of an audience. âRemember geudaega himdeul ttaemyeon hangsang...â (x) The first words out of his mouth and there was already a collective murmur of whispers going around, some cheering and clapping. ânunmureul useumgwa bakkwotjyo... na eomneun goseseon ulji mayo Donât cry...â He closed his eyes, fingers expertly moving along the keys as he sang the song, the emotion clear on his face, sadness in his eyes as he opened them again upon finishing the piece. âThis time.â
He could see that the audience was practically stunned into silence and he smiled, looking up at the sky as he noticed the small flakes falling. âI have one more song for you guys.â He said as he looked down at the keyboard taking a moment before starting to play the next piece, a smile appearing on his face. ânan ganghaeboyeodo utgo iseodo honjail ttaega mana neul geokjeonghana eopseo boyeodo hal mari mana...â (x)Â
Unfortunately to him the song ended way too fast and he stood up, bowing before laughing softly into the mic as he addressed one last question to the audience. âHow did you like it?âÂ
