And we're off! The Skeleton Moff Mothman finally has a head base, which means one step down, many more to go (trying to see if I can finish them in time for Spooky Season). Btw, even though I have drafted my own patterns from scratch before (and will have to draft a bunch for this project), this head base pattern was purchased from MyPuppetFactory over on Etsy cause I really liked the shape, and it was pretty much what I was shooting for when I started the project (why reinvent the wheel when someone already figured out the base construction?)
I will say that the pattern is lacking written instructions (but they do have a video tutorial), and I did have to alter it to suit my needs like printing the pattern at 103% to be usable (otherwise it is too small), and I installed the mouthplate differently than they did in their tutorial video, but the overall shape is super charming and works perfectly for my puppet project.
Example of what I mean between a 3% increase in size: Left is the original printed pattern, right is the increased pattern
Now I just need to work on patterning everything else, so wish me luck!
