Dust covered the snowed ground beneath him, his vision blurring as it got more and more difficult to focus on it. He felt sick, and he felt scared. Shaky hands reached down to touch the scarlet fabric, before picking it up and holding it close. The comedian fell to his knees, tears welling up in his eyesockets, before dripping down onto the scarf. Why? Why did this have to happen?! Whispers surrounded him, saying how he was next and how he had failed to protect the one he cared for the most. Any attempts at screaming back how they were wrong were futile, as the whispers only got louder and louder, until he felt a sharp cut over his chest, and--

     A scream could be heard as Sans woke up, curling up on his bed as he stared into the darkness with horror. His breathing was rapid and uneven, panic filling his senses and mind. With shaky hands, he wrapped his arms around himself, almost as if any more pressure and fear would cause him to fall into pieces. He needed to calm down. He didn’t want to wake up his brother. That was the last thing he wanted to do.
